The family of George Floyd, the Minneapolis man who died shortly after he was arrested by police officers on suspicion of passing a counterfeit $20 bill, has retained prominent forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Baden to perform an independent autopsy.
Baden, a former New York City chief medical examiner, confirmed to Fox News Friday that the Floyd family had asked him to perform the autopsy and said he would travel to Minneapolis Saturday. Baden added that he would discuss his findings early next week.
Earlier Friday, former police officer Derek Chauvin, 44, was was charged with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in the case, which sparked protests across the United States and riots in Minneapolis. A criminal complaint against Chauvin states that he kept his knee on Floyds neck for 8 minutes, 46 seconds, including nearly three minutes after Floyd stopped moving and talking.
Police had arrested Floyd and were trying to put him in a squad car when he stiffened up and fell to the ground, saying he was claustrophobic, according to the complaint.
An official autopsy revealed nothing to support strangulation as the cause of death, concluding that the combined effects of being restrained, potential intoxicants in Floyds system and his underlying health issues, including heart disease, likely contributed to his death.

It’s definitely a Covid-19 statistic then.
The Floyd Family can afford the services of the famous Dr. Baden? Well now. Maybe someone is giving them this cash for this particular purpose. If the family is accepting big cash from ‘sympathetic donors’ expect to hear some well crafted public remarks about the case in the next week or two.
The Open Letters are still being written by the ‘sympathetic donors’. This is how it worked with the Trayvon case.
If investigation finds this event to be an organized false red flag event, can Chauvin and others involved then be charged with premeditated murder?
Their lawyer can afford it. Compared to what his cut will be, it’s a minor expense.
I thought I read they had a go fund me account with over
1.5 million in it yesterday.
Trayvon's family got in fist-fights with each other over the sale of Trayvon memorabilia. If money is involved, the Floyd family may end up in fist-fights too.
Good. The whole incident should be reviewed by an independent source.

They keep saying no death by strangulation. However, cutting off the blood flow to the carotid artery will cause brain hypoxia and death.

I second this.
I’m fine with this. Dr. Baden can be controversial but I don’t think he can be bought. He’ll give his honest opinion.
Agreed. And Baden seamed to be a straight-shooter over the years.
>> Its definitely a Covid-19 statistic then.
To the contrary — this is the case that cured COVID-19.
[[cutting off the blood flow to the carotid artery will cause brain hypoxia and death.]]
Just curious- where did anyone say he died of brain hypoxia, or that his carotoid artery was cut off?
Heart attacks cause brain hypoxia too if we’re going down the road that he died of hypoxia- a failed or failing heart cuts off blood to brain too-
You can bet your ass there’s an attorney behind this,
expecting 50-75% of the settlement at the end of the day.
I thought he got on the wrong end of the argument in the Brown incident in Missouri.
Can’t say that I blame them. I wouldn’t trust the same system to the autopsy that trains Minn cops.
The autopsy revealed no physical findings that support a diagnosis of traumatic asphyxia or strangulation. Mr. Floyd had underlying health conditions including coronary artery disease and hypertensive heart disease. The combined effects of Mr. Floyd being restrained by the police, his underlying health conditions and any potential intoxicants in his system likely contributed to his death.
Not only were no physical findings to support traumatic asphyxia or strangulation found, but the report finds clogged coronary arteries, and high blood pressure, and potential intoxicants, and the police restraint action likely contributed to Floyd's death. Were death caused by pressure to the carotids cutting off blood supply to the brain, it does not seem that clogged coronary arteries or high blood pressure would likely contribute to the cause of death. All of the cited factors could well contribute to the cause of death if it were a heart attack.
If the cause was heart attack, then officer Chauvin's actions may not have been what rendered Floyd unconscious, and there would be a lack of evidence of incorrect applied pressure or blocking off the carotids. Also, Floyd may have been dead very shortly after he became unresponsive from a heart attack or arrythmia. One cannot kill a dead person, so any act after the time of death cannot be murder or homicide. Much of the time that the restraint continued after Floyd became non-responsive may have involved a dead person.
The final report with cause of death is needed to assess criminality.
Can you imagine what would happen if the cop was let off because some jury decided GF died of natural causes?
Hey, maybe you didn’t hear, but the ex-cop now in prison has ten prior excessive force complaints against him. One of those was shooting a guy attacking other people with a knife, so it doesn’t count.
But guess who the county attorney was who DIDN’T prosecute him?
Amy Klobuchar, current DEM US Senator, and until this past week, a hopeful for VP on the Biden ticket.
Think there might’ve been some pressure to sanitize this to help Amy’s chances?
Besides, the coroner used the phrase “traumatic asphyxiation”.
DuckDuckGo for it yourself, it takes 30 seconds.
That’s when someone compresses your thorax (chest) so much it makes blood flow backwards into the heart.
It’s got LITERALLY nothing whatsoever to do with a knee on the neck.
And the ex-cop who is now in jail on $500,000 bond, was videoed in a continuous, uncut video with his knee on the guy’s neck for NINE STRAIGHT MINUTES. Including 2 1/2 minutes or so after one of the other policeman checked the guy on the ground and said he didn’t have a pulse. That’s all in the official Probable Cause document for charging him with 3rd degree murder (which in Minnesota doesn’t require intent) and manslaughter.
Good luck with your spin, liberal troll.
