WASHINGTON President Donald Trumps erratic handling of the coronavirus outbreak, the worsening economy and a cascade of ominous public and private polling have Republicans increasingly nervous that they are at risk of losing the presidency and the Senate if Trump does not put the nation on a radically improved course.
The scale of the GOPs challenge has crystallized in the last week. With 26 million Americans now having filed for unemployment benefits, Trumps standing in states that he carried in 2016 looks increasingly wobbly: New surveys show him trailing significantly in battleground states like Michigan and Pennsylvania, and he is even narrowly behind in must-win Florida.
Democrats raised substantially more money than Republicans did in the first quarter in the most pivotal congressional races, according to recent campaign finance reports. And while Trump is well ahead in money compared with the presumptive Democratic nominee, Joe Biden, Democratic donors are only beginning to focus on the general election, and several super political action committees plan to spend heavily on behalf of him and the party.
Perhaps most significantly, Trumps single best advantage as an incumbent his access to the bully pulpit has effectively become a platform for self-sabotage.

Fake news
Nervous democrats see Biden Sinking, and Taking House With Him.
The real headline.
It is difficult to picture Biden on stage debating Trump.
But, Dem voters hate Trump so much that they might be willing to vote for any Dem.
What a bunch of Haberman BS
i remember seeing this article previously- in 2016!!!
__________
I do, too. It went like this... Republicans have given up on the Presidency and are now just trying to save the House and Senate.
Cam Smelly Maggie offer any reasons to believe that President Hillary or President Joe would have acted earlier, and that the damage would have been less? All of the circumstantial evidence that we have says “no.”
I have respected the president up till now. I do watch the daily briefings and at first it was enlightening. Lately it has turned into a 9th grade food-fight between DJT and the various media operatives.
These daily briefings are repetitive, confusing, and combative. The president is in-charge and he has the power to set the agenda and the format. Instead there is very little new info every day and the main feature is a spat between a left-winged operative and DJT. From the president we hear the same litany of facts; we do more testing than any other country, we have enough ventilators, DJT loves all the governors and they love him.
Now all of the world is seeing Lysol shouldn’t be injected and don’t swallow disinfectants. My left leaning friends can’t stop talking about the Lysol comment although totally untrue but that is the media. The daily briefing should be talking less and having a well structured agenda would be a great help. Let Pence lead he was a talk show host before and has a great presentation style.
Typical NY Slimes FAKE news!
Who do you think your fooling? LMAO
I guess then they want either Biden or Cuomo.
No, it doesn’t.
It means, “Certainly someone is going to post the meme of an angry Captain Kirk, shouting “NO MORE BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!”, So here, let me predict it”.
However, it looks like I was mistaken.
Not the first time.
So you post out here once every 2 or 3 years?
........ Like it or not .... There is absolutely nothing that is certain in the world .... Especially in the Arena of Politics .... It would be irresponsible for Republicans to proceed as Hillary did expecting a Coronation in the last Federal Election ........ Or like the Republicans did in the Mid Terms expecting a Red Tidal Wave ..... Always Hope for the Best .... But Absolutely prepare for the Worst scenario ...... The battle is not over yet my friends .......
Correct translation:
“Dammit! Even a pandemic virus and economic shutdown didn’t work. His ratings are still high, even rising in some polls. And the GOP senators in trouble, like McSally and Gardner, have been the beneficiaries of having their opponents locked down! Dammit, dammit, dammit.”
