President Donald Trumps temporary suspension of the immigrant inflow includes the routine inflow of non-immigrant visa workers, according to the New York Times.

Companies are in business to make money, not to provide jobs.
Marxist societies that place jobs over profits fail
Our approach to deal with this plague was highly influenced by the death and sickness due to the CCWV ( Chinese Communist Wuhan Virus) reports coming out of Italy.
Most Americans including this one were not aware that that the Italian socialist government had actually allowed the Chinese communists to purchase thus remove Italian ownership of a large segment of their fashion industry producers. Then replace the Italians working at those companies taken over by the Chinese and have them manned by thousands of Chinese nationals allowed to be brought in to work there.
When that CCWV breakout occured in Wuhan the politburo closedoff Wuhan but did not warn the Italian Socialist government or the Pope with whom the Chinese government had good relations with but certainly violated when the socialists should have been informed and allowed to deny those Chinese workers travel to and from China particularly for their New Year while this was occuring. Which Trump did with the exception of only allowing American citizens returning..
Those statistics being reported always indicated the casualties were aged Italians no focus was permitted on China or even if the victims were from China and the emphasis was on the speed of contagion. While doing so also ignored the direct connection those producers have with the Chinese Communist government which owns them.

Preventing the importation of indentured servants is not Marxism.
I have a bachelors degree in anthropology which is the same as a degree in Marxism and I doubt that you have any true understanding of the miserable nonsense that Marx and Engels vomited upon an unsuspecting world. Its just some catchphrase you use to excuse and justify your own bad behavior.
You may in fact be correct. I used the term Marxist as anti capitalist.
When it comes to anthropologists, my favorite and the standard is Stephen Likson
Finally. The President is using this crisis to further a just cause. How do you like it, Dems?

Exactly! We’ve got 22 million American citizens out of work and the Left wants to pander to visa holders over citizens. Should be interesting.
I personally know a very experienced QA (Quality Assurance) person with many yrs experience that's been struggling for yrs to get a job, while thousands of Indian & Chinese folks are flooding into the country displacing them.
New Jersey alone has hundreds of tech companies with hundreds of Indian workers. You will never find anyone there with an english sounding name.
Replacing citizens with those that do not hold to the values of our society... leads to socialism, sharia or any other number of issues. Replace people... you upend the culture that allows companies to make a profit.
At my last large employer there were almost NO non Indians in IT. Seems like some kind of racism at work as well.
Yep.
It all began with Carly Forina trying to save her job as CEO at HP by outsourcing 10k jobs to India.
I was living in Santa Clara at the time and we heard a constant story of Americans forced to train in their replacements.
“Train them in or you will be terminated today”
We couldn’t believe it until we heard multiple stories from personal friends.
In the end, it didn’t save HP.
All their good engineers left and now they are the worlds largest, most expensive printer company.
And every 4 years, Carly shows up again trying to convince the GOP-e she is the only one who can win.
Your experience is obviously different.
What was the focus of this conference was how they can lower cost by hiring external workers (H1-B Visas and others), and they were teaching the specific ways on how to craft the job descriptions in such a 'creative' way that it would be almost impossible to find an American worker to fill the position.
After the job posts remains unfilled for a few months, they can then goto the State Dept and say how they are having difficulty filling the posts and they needs to hire from outside the USA to fill the jobs.
That practise has been ongoing ever since.
No Bert is correct and you are wrong. What Bert stated is not limited to small manufacturing. I have a close friend who is small size general contractor. Depending on the job he will employ 5 to 15 laborers. He readily admitted that he employs mostly immigrants because compared to the pool of american laborers he has to choose from; the immigrants reliably show up to work ( many times early ) and stay late if necessary, clean up after themselves, don’t smoke dope during lunch time, and every free minute are not playing with a phone. That is a snapshot of a reality you can choose to believe or not. As the saying goes, there are none so blind that choose not to see.
I worked with an options trader whose family owned factories. He had the same complaint, saying that in the old days they had workers who were drunk, etc., and used it to justify hiring illegal aliens at their plants.
The employers Bert discusses could get better workers if they paid more; or, could deal with the lower productivity if they didn't have to compete with unfair, ruthless foreign competition.
The problem isn't the workers, it's the idiot trade and macroeconomic policies we've adopted over the past few decades.
In the sixties even a drunk could find work in construction or the garment district in New York and still afford an SRO hotel, which is why you didn't see homeless back then. That's how valuable American labor was.
How will the Trump organization run its resorts? They have already asserted in the H2B application that they cannot find Americans to do the work.
I grew up in a blue-collar town, a coal mining town and all those people worked hard. My father was a coalminer and he worked hard. I have friends that still work at the coal mine and the power plant and they are hard-working people and they dont smoke dope at lunch.
What has happened is that illegal immigration has driven wages down so low in many occupations that most Americans cannot live at the wages that explicative scum are paying. Cut off the exploited cheap illegal labor and then wages will inevitably rise and Americans who are not on their last legs will take the job.
How can you look in the mirror?
pierrem15, you beat me to it. you are 100% correct. Illegal immigration has forced Americans out of many occupations. In my hometown people used to make a good living and raise an entire family working as a carpenter and that just isnt the case anymore with the low wages.
I hope and expect that under the emergency declared by President Trump that he will soon make E-Verify mandatory for employers. What will the cheap labor express do then?
You have to love the extensive list of job criteria that these HR managers post for the magical unicorn candidate they are not really looking for. Nobody could possibly have the those mixes of skillsets. It is hilarious when they ask for 5 to 7 years of experience in a technology that has only been around a year.
The Indian guys do bring a certain condescending attitudes towards women with them as well and can be very arrogant too.
I personally witnessed an Indian guy tell another Indian young lady, that if he had his way he would NOT hesitate to kill her if I were not in the room! Suffice to say, I was totally shocked by his outburst and had him reassigned for it.
Ancient caste system was in public display and he felt that she should be his slave or less; but definitely not worthy to be breathing in the same air with him or in the same building.
