New York's New Numbers Hit the System
The global number of deaths from COVID-19 yesterday, was 12,302. The United states
alone accounted for 6,087 of them. We know that New York reviewed thier records
recently and declared at least 3,700 new deaths to be as a result of COVID-19.
Yesterday those cases finally showed up on the reports.
That massive number skews a number of metrics.
For more reading material on the topic, here's an article revealing the 3,700 numbers.

Six Nations Have Now Surpassed China's Numbers
Remember when those numbers coming out of China seemed big, even if we didn't think
they were the full count? Well, we now have six nations with numbers higher than
what China was reporting back then.
They are the USA 677,570, Spain 184,948, Italy 168,941, France 165,027, Germany
137,698, and the United Kingdom 103,093.

It was mentioned that my population numbers weren't as accurate as I would have

Now while their case numbers don't look out of whack, I still can't figure out
why their rate of death is so much higher per million.
Whatever Finland is doing, someone should can it and sell it.

Daily Case Report Evaluation
I'll be keeping tabs on the daily tallies for days of the week for a while. Folks have
noticed some patterns of larger and smaller data entry on certaind days, and on Fridays
sometimes the numbers get noticably larger because of it.
Let's check out the numbers and a chart.
Wk/of Tue Wed Thu Fri Sat Sun Mon - 03/06 2,223 2,265 2,962 3,801 3,977 3,876 4,411 03/13 4,411 4,680 2,085 17,028 11,031 13,847 12,158 03/20 15,748 20,668 25,700 30,911 31,846 31,979 42,362 03/27 41,500 48,988 60,679 65,282 67,094 58,576 62,551 04/03 73,890 77,602 78,618 102,520 85,002 71,933 72,328 04/10 72,328 87,578 83,407 96,134 78,647 73,300 70,403 04/17 74,620 90,108 99,952
Friday's do seem to have a bias in favor of larger reports of new cases.
I'll keep tracking this for at least a few more weeks to give folks a chance to detect
patterns not only on Fridays, but other days as well.
States of the Union and the District of Columbia, Alphabetical & by Case Number
Idea of adding more informaton here, courtesy of Presbyterian Reporter
This little report now provides the number of cases and the deaths. I was going
to add more, but the data set I needed to pull this from, didn't provide that
information.. It's an alphabetical and cases by declining number file.
It will also be available as a downloadable Excel file, so you can do your own
sorting, beyond the two sorts I have provided here. Both the states and the counties
come on one Excell spreadsheet.
Here is the Standing of 200 Counties in the U. S.
This little report lists 200 Counties in the United States in declining Case numbers.
There is also a listing that is alphabetical. This report just list the entities
and the number of Cases in the two different sorts.
It will also be available as a downloadable Excel file, so you can do your own
sorting, beyond the two sorts I have provided here. The States and Counties are
included on the same Excel spreadsheet.
Here's what it's all about. From January 20th to the present.
This concludes our look back at yesterday's data. Take care...

With NY dumping 3700 cases into the mix on one day because they wanted to skews any analysis of how the us is doing
I think you nailed it. I have no confidence that other states also are including any person with a cough who is killed in a car accident as a covid death. I just don’t trust any reports.
I have no clue as to what’s going on.
This was excellent. Thank you. I know it took a huge amount of time to put this together and analyze it.
I did something similar very early when John Hopkins was presenting their data. That’s when I thought the reporting from various countries was spurious. Nothing has really changed my mind as more people get involved in the count and analysis.
I am still in vast wonderment about how incredibly fast the spread was initially. Just agog, actually. As a PhD in medical microbiology and areas subsumed within that vast data/knowledge base, I still lean toward a disbursement within the jet stream. It just happened so very very fast I can think of no other disbursement occurring within the time stream all over the world as we have been informed.
Nemaste.
When I sit down to really review it, it takes me more than an hour just to plow through it, and I know I still can't understand all of the nuances of this effort.
Thanks for your work.
When there is a major incident, how accurate are initial reports? How many shooters? When we get initial reports of voting on election night and the major counties have not weighed in. Look at China and ny revising numbers. The stats are interesting to track but I wont hold too much interpretation on them
thanks

I am confident good things are just around the riverbend. Thank you.
Thank you again for these reports. The growth in number of cases in our area jumped yesterday and was attributed to more rapid testing. (Texas Panhandle)
i told you, watch NY and particularly NYC.
On Wednesday April 1 I began tracking the number of serious, critical cases being reported in the USA.
These are the people who may likely die in the next few days.
If the serious, critical number goes up, we will likely see more deaths. On the other hand if the various drugs being tested are effective in treating the virus, the serious, critical number should go down.
Here are the numbers:
Apr 1 Wed 5005
Apr 2 Thu 5421
Apr 3 Fri 5787
Apr 4 Sat 8206
Apr 5 Sun 8702
Apr 6 Mon 8879
Apr 7 Tue 9169
Apr 8 Wed 9279
Apr 9 Thu 10,011
Apr 10 Fri 10916
Apr 11 Sat 11471
Apr 12 Sun 11766
Apr 13 Mon 12722
Apr 14 Tue 13473
Apr 15 Wed 13487
Apr 16 Thu 13369
On Wednesday the number of serious and critical cases only increased by 14 patients.
Yesterday, the number of serious and critical cases DECLINED by 118 patients.
While that is great news two days in a row, we need to keep in mind that about 4500 people died Weds and Thur.
What we need to see is a slowdown in the number of people who are serious/critical and a slowdown in the number of people dying.
The slowdown in critical/serious cases is confirmed by Trump’s task force who are saying there are plenty of empty ICU and Regular hospital beds.
Our local newspaper reported this morning that 126 people in LONG TERM CARE FACILITIES (LTCF) had died of corona virus.
Florida currently has 668 total corona deaths.
Thus, LTCF patients account for 19% of the deaths in Florida.
So I did some research and found that in Florida-—
There are 691 licensed nursing homes in Florida, representing approximately 84,448 beds (Source: Agency for Health Care Administration)
The estimated number of residents is 71,000 (roughly 85% occupancy at any given time)
https://www.fhca.org/media_center/long_term_health_care_facts/
Florida’s population is 22 million. So the 71,000 people in LTCF represent .032% of the total population.
Thus, we have .032% of the population accounting for 19% of the deaths.
The American Public needs to know the demographics of the people who have died from corona virus.
Conversely, how many currently employed people in the USA have died from corona virus? I suspect it is an extremely small percent of the total population.
We need to get America back to work. One way to do that is to give the American people very clear data on the demographics of the people who have died.
If the numbers show that 99.9% of the American workers have not died from corona virus, then they need to get back to work.
On the other hand the non-workers, especially the seniors and those with underlying health conditions, need to self-isolate and practice a very rigid hygiene protocol.
Together, the workers and non-workers can open up America again.
I have not seen any daily jump of over 3700 deaths in the US since I have been tracking. The highest daily death count was 4926, on Apr 16, with 2410 the day before and 2301 the day after.
If NY added more deaths to the count, I wonder if it is because autopsy results came in for some cases? I know that autopsy test results can be delayed for a while.
On Apr 9, when I first started tracking US numbers separately from world numbers, the US death rate was 3.42%. Today, it is 4.96%. It will continue to grow until all cases are resolved. As of 2 hours ago, 86.7% of diagnosed cases in the US remained active.
I am looking forward to seeing some of the clinical trial data. The sooner a drug regimen is proven effective, the better.
We have ZERO cases of CV in our town. ZERO
...we are living in a police state
...seems to me this was created to destroy the individual ...wealth in the world
...to make us all dependent on the government
All by grand design...
The good people of the world are being PUNISHED.
In California there are 5 Counties without any CV.
Yet they are being treated like NYC cesspool.
Someone asked a county health official in Los Angeles about paychecks. She was asked if people working for the county making $100k to $400k a year would stop taking a paycheck. HE was literally cut off...
NYS at 821 deaths/1M, NJ at 396, Conn at 271, LA at 248
These have been the states that have really suffered. Are we able to get stats by city or city area
