New York Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said on Tuesday night that she believes the Democratic Party has an obligation to examine a sexual assault allegation made against presumptive Democratic Presidential nominee Joe Biden by Tara Reade, his former aide when he served as Delaware's senator.
In response to a question about the allegations during an online conversation with The Wing—a group dedicated to the "professional, civic, social, and economic advancement of women through community"—Ocasio-Cortez said, "I think it's legitimate to talk about these things."
"If we again want to have integrity, you can't say, you know, both believe women, support all of this, until it inconveniences you," she added.
While Biden has denied Reade's accusation, Ocasio-Cortez said that not discussing #MeToo issues in order to improve Biden's chances of beating President Donald Trump during the November election is the "exact opposite of integrity."

Gaslighting is a psychological term for when someone messes with someone’s mind to make them believe the opposite of what reality is. Like convincing them their real memories are just figments of their imagination and the lies they are told are the truth.

People with narcissistic personality disorder, sociopaths, etc. It’s a classic method of narcissists, to deflect all criticism of them back on you. You tell them how something they did was hurtful, or wrong, and they tell you that what you are saying never happened, and that you are imagining things, or remembering wrong etc.
While the terms do have legitimate uses, as commonly used, I would say it means being, from somebody else’s perspective, an obnoxious person. A specialized use is accusing a man of annoying women because he thinks, speaks, and acts like a man without taking into account that women are not man.

I like your description of ‘gaslighting’ - essentially, convincing someone they are going insane when they are not.
But, the DNC isn’t fooling of anyone - nobody is questioning their own sanity. The only thing the DNC is convincing anyone of is that they are liars and hypocrites.
