Travesty is not a nice word. It usually is applied to gross perversions of justice, and that apparently is the context Attorney General William Barr desired when he dropped it into an interview answer the other day in the breezy courtyard of the Department of Justice (DOJ).
His composed, understated delivery almost disguised the weighty magnitude of that disturbing word and the loaded adjective that preceded it. I think what happened to him, he said, referring to the president and the FBIs counterintelligence investigation into his campaign, was one of the greatest travesties in American history.
Okay, its important to pause for a moment and absorb what the AG said. He just called an FBI investigation not just a travesty but one of the greatest travesties in the nations history. It was an unprecedented statement by an attorney general about his own departments premier agency.
The FBI has made plenty of mistakes, but never in its 112-year history has an FBI investigation been characterized as a travesty, let alone one that equates to other hall-of-fame travesties in American history.
Is the AGs assessment fair? The answer is entwined in his next statement: Without any basis (the FBI) started this investigation into (Donald Trumps) campaign .
Oops, stop again right there. Mr. Barr is making a definitive statement about that which many of us have speculated all along, namely that the weirdly unprecedented investigative team put together by former FBI Director James Comey and Deputy Director Andrew McCabe did not have adequate legal reasons to open a case into the Trump campaign in the first place. The attorney general just confirmed that.

no indictments. no one goes to jail. the swamp sticks together.
Are DC grand juries being convened during the virus shutdown? Same for the courts?
If President Trump is going to have a second term which is fully successful, the Republicans must control the House.
The only way we control the House is if the general public goes into the Nov election with an extremely low opinion of the Democrats.
The way the public becomes disgusted with the Democrats is to show the general public how naked this coup attempt really was. To delay the indictments is terribly irresponsible. It’s not just another election coming up, and the public has a right to know this stuff. For Durham to delay is to be not just ineffectual, but to be complicit.
Exactly! Let me know if they want to prosecute in WV instead of DC. DC ain’t gonna convict one of their own.
a great travesty.. and it had been going on for a long time.. known by probably most in Washington .. and it took a man from our side of the world to make them sweat!
ok.. now PROSECUTE!
While moaning about the slow pace of the investigations, let’s not overlook the fact that this is a very useful article for bringing apolitical and independent friends up to speed a bit on what we already know.
...yeah, curious how the virus appears right as all the impeachment crap was finished, along with any hope the D’s could undo 2016. We all knew that now the next step was to look into the Mueller investigation.
If there was no basis the person that originated the special council broke the law. Also, anyone that got caught up in it all (Flynn) should be freed, it’s the result of a poisoned tree.
I believe this virus was bioengineered as part of a deep state, globalist, CCP, operation to destroy PDJT. A few million lives don’t matter. The end justifies the means, by any means necessary. Nobody will be able to convince me otherwise - the timing is just far too convenient.
We knew this several years ago.
So much time wasted. It may be too late.
Time to ramp up the Whuhan flu Apocalypse if Barr moves on this.
Ruby Ridge, Waco, and the Bundy Ranch were all a portent of the totalitarian future ahead of us. All the more reason to support President Trump and to support an Article Five amendment convention to reign in the power of the Fourth Branch of government: The Deep State.
“Signals” can kiss my dupa.
Until there are actual criminal indictments, it’s all just more, er, malarkey.
I know these things take time.
But sometimes, justice simply grinds to a halt.
I hope the truth fully emerges, and the guilty parties punished.
Supporting Trump yes.
Getting rid of Barr's sorry ass, yes (he defended Lon Horiuchi if I remember right).
"reign in" -- spellcheck is your friend, and it's NOT Marshall Law either. ;-D
“I believe this virus was bioengineered as part of a deep state, globalist, CCP, operation to destroy PDJT. A few million lives dont matter. The end justifies the means, by any means necessary. Nobody will be able to convince me otherwise - the timing is just far too convenient.”
I don’t want to believe that. I generally don’t buy in to conspiracies. But, I have to admit, it’s all a little too coincidental.
I know its a very long-shot, but I still hope to see CIA spook, crypto-Muslim and Deep state apparatchik John Brennan publicly hanged for his role in organizing a coup detat against Donald Trump and treason against the Constitution.
I’d like to believe in the tooth fairy, too. I’ll believe it when the indictments start to fall.
Any amendment proposed by an Article Five convention still has to be ratified by 38 states so I don’t see what you’re worried about.
Oh no, now they are in biiig trouble...
AMEN! All of a sudden the feds “care” about the innocent children who could die of C.V. but didn’t care about the children killed in Waco....
