I would start with Massie, but I certainly wouldn’t stop with him.

See.

Trump doesn’t have sycophant supporters because his supporters will tell him when he is wrong in a dead stupid way.

Like now.

I agree with Massie. Shame on McConnell, Repugnants, demonRats, et al. who have porked up this bill instead of putting the focus where it truly belongs—getting emergency help to American citizens and businesses.

This is what has happened each and every time, time and again, when an emergency bill is needed. It gets porked up to the hilt, and then when someone takes a stand, Massie in this case, he/they get pulverized. Sorry, don’t agree with Trump this time.

$2 trillion (Congress)
+$4 trillion (Fed & Treasury)

$6 trillion stimulus

$6 trillion divided by 350 million citizens = $17,000 per citizen

times a family of 4

=$68,000 per family of new national debt and dollar devaluation in this stimulus.

not a good deal

The senate did some voodoo just like with Obamacare. Took a House Bill (HR 748) dealing with taxes, stripped every word, and put their bill in it. The House is just as responsible for killing the origination clause as the Senate. It’s the House’s job to reject the process.

US Constitution
ARTICLE I, SECTION 5, CLAUSE 1
Quorum requirement:

Each House shall be the Judge of the Elections, Returns and Qualifications of its own Members, and a Majority of each shall constitute a Quorum to do Business;

cboldt: Separately from the House gearing up to do business without a quorum, President Trump is about to order GM and Ford to make ventilators. His stress level ... high.

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump

Looks like a third rate Grandstander named @RepThomasMassie
, a Congressman from, unfortunately, a truly GREAT State, Kentucky, wants to vote against the new Save Our Workers Bill in Congress. He just wants the publicity. He can’t stop it, only delay, which is both dangerous......

...& costly. Workers & small businesses need money now in order to survive. Virus wasn’t their fault. It is “HELL” dealing with the Dems, had to give up some stupid things in order to get the “big picture” done. 90% GREAT! WIN BACK HOUSE, but throw Massie out of Republican Party!

What right does Massie have to say Pelosi is not in charge of this country? That is the Republicans job?

Trump’s response is overblown. The price tag is likely too high. Yet Massey could have picked other, better items to complain about, like 300 million dollars to refugees and assorted other pork. Why is it a good idea to encourage refugees to enter the country during a pandemic? If there was ever an excuse to bar refugees it’s during a pandemic. Much of this pork had nothing to do with helping Americans not get sick and die.

I do not know what Massie is objecting to, but Trump really can be “unhelpful” at times.

Is it even possible to expel someone from a major political party, after he/she makes the rest of the party look bad? I have never heard of it being done. The Democrats did not expel Lyndon LaRouche, for example, after he turned against them.

Just because Massie is a tool does not mean he is right this time. Gingrich was spoken of in the same way when he refused to go along with GHW (Read my lips) Bush’s tax increase.

I like Trump, but this is a bit over the top. Massie has been a pretty good conservative rep - we need all the conservatives we can get in Congress.

Well, the President isn’t wrong - since this will not ultimately stop the bill from passing, Massie just gave a huge gift to the Democrats - they were very vulnerable to be attacked for delaying the bill by insisting on irrelevant items - now Massie has shielded them from this criticism.

Trump is starting to act like Bush.

Take what Pelosi gives him, criticize his own people instead of Democrats....

This deal is horsecrap.
