Pelosi delays her coronavirus bill, says will try to pass Senate's without most members present
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Tuesday that she will attempt to pass the Senate's coronavirus economic stimulus package putting aside the alternative, projected $2.5 trillion measure that she proposed.
The California Democrat said she'll try to pass the Senate's projected $1.8 trillion measure by unanimous consent, meaning House members can say yes without having to come to Capitol Hill to vote.
I hope people called her office and let her have it.
Please let there be a meteor with her name out there getting ready to enter our atmosphere.
If her version passes this nation is finished.
no news there, mware ... he could cure cancer and the COVID-19 and the same people would be busy crucifying him ... and the same people would believe and and the same people would not believe it ... today’s media has so little credibility they cannot move the needle. (and by the way, hi! ... haven’t ‘seen’ you in a while)
WE backed her down?!!
BFD. If that had passed it might’ve been enough to start a Civil War.
Because diversity coordinators are ALWAYS more important, don't you know?
I think maybe Dem constituents backed her down. She and her “crew” looked really bad and for once, even the press made negative remarks about their idol.
I read a twitter post from a newsie that Mark Meadows has been running his butt off today between different offices trying to work out the deal. I think what will happen is there will be language in there to make sure the corporations behave themselves and help the employees instead of doing stock buy backs and giving themselves bonuses as they’ve been known to do. Might have been repubs(Trump’s) plan to begin with. Instead of allowing pork, “compromise” in this way.
Airlines are critical to our infrastructure, they should not be doing buybacks, or anything that puts them in jeopardy when something like this happens, and we wind up on the hook for them.
Terrible, should have been done already.
When Trump said of Boeing, “we can’t let them fail”, that too big to fail thing with the automaker bailout popped into my head. I suppose some are so tied in with fedgov that they are important but they need to behave themselves and in Boeing’s case, get their shit together.

President Donald J. Trump is leading the nation through this crisis with steady resolve.
Whats House Speaker Nancy Pelosi doing?
Loading up the relief bill with a socialist wishlist.
She must stop playing with peoples lives.

Ouch, that’s gonna leave a mark. Also, why is he getting daily coverage by alphabet channels for an hour at a time? I usually watch Fox (at certain times during the day anyway), but they’re just as bad with this. I understand that NY has been hit the hardest, but give a sound bite summation of what he said. Every one of them have turned into Cuomo News Network.
I love this. It means that Pelosi and the democrats were getting eaten alive on social media. Pelosi is deeply out of touch with not just flyover country, but her own constituency.
I saw tons of angry posts from the both liberals and gibmedats on various community pages. Too funny.
All for show, they’ll not pass the Senate bill.
Why should people who are receiving any type of government check be getting money from this legislation? I thought it was to help people and individuals who could not go to work to earn their living due to the corona virus shut downs. As far as I am aware, no government checks have stopped coming.
Must have forgotten to put the plastic mask on with the eyebrows that go to her cheek bones.
Exactly. And oh, my, were they ever. The kindest posts I saw accused Nanzi of deliberately handing Trump the election, the rest aren't printable.
The President spoke about stock buybacks yesterday. To the public. And he was very clear.
“... I mean, I dont like them buying back stock. I like them spending money on airplanes and on their employees and their real business, not buying back stock. And I dont know if that provision is going to be put in one way or the other, but Im all for it. And many Republicans, I can tell you, are for it and I think many Democrats are for it. But they were putting that out like it was a problem last night. Its not a problem for me, I can tell you that.”
Any CEO that goes against the President on this issue would be a fool.
I’m with you, but good luck with that.
