Pence says there's been 'irresponsible rhetoric' from people downplaying the coronavirus

WASHINGTON — Vice President Mike Pence said Thursday that there has been "irresponsible rhetoric" from people who have downplayed the seriousness of the U.S. coronavirus outbreak. In an interview on the "TODAY" show, Savannah Guthrie asked what message Pence sends to people who aren't afraid of the coronavirus and think it's just politics and hype, quoting from President Donald Trump on Monday that the "fake news media and their partner, the Democrat Party, is doing everything to inflame the coronavirus situation." "Well, obviously there's been some irresponsible rhetoric," Pence said without directly naming Trump. Pence, the head of the president's coronavirus task force, added, "The American people should know that President Trump has no higher priority than the health and safety and well-being of the people of this country." The administration, he continued, will focus on communities that have experienced community spread of the virus and he said Trump's action a day earlier, suspending travel from Europe to the U.S., is "one more example of how he's putting the health of America first." Trump announced in an Oval Office address Wednesday night that the U.S. will ban most foreign travelers from Europe, except the United Kingdom, for the next 30 days. "This is the most aggressive and comprehensive effort to confront a foreign virus in modern history. I am confident that by counting and continuing to take these tough measures, we will significantly reduce the threat to our citizens, and we will ultimately and expeditiously defeat this virus," Trump said. The administration's travel restrictions take effect Friday at midnight and only apply to foreign nationals, not U.S. citizens, green card holders or the families of U.S. citizens, according to the DHS.

“irresponsible rhetoric”

Now, that is a polite understatement.

God bless his mid-western politeness, but the people who have contributed to this dangerous propaganda need to be held accountable.

“Trump and the administration should simply stop any and all interviews with the MSM. Ignore these pissants. Get statements out there by Youtube and Twitter.”

Absolutely. 100%

And this would be an excellent opportunity for PDJT to end his Twitter account and move to one of the other media chat venues, e,g, Gab or similar. If people want to know the skinny on Wuhan virus, they’ll learn nothing from Twitter.

The Democrats and the media have been hoping and wishing for something... anything to derail the economy. They do not care how much damage they do to the country.

“”Well, obviously there’s been some irresponsible rhetoric,” Pence said without directly naming Trump.”

NBC’s proggie hack injected the biased part of “without directly naming Trump” either a) not realizing Pence was speaking of the MSM or b) deliberately twisting it against Trump.

Either way, fake news. Enemedia.

Still not getting the toilet paper thing, though.

Every time someone sneezes, 10 people around him poop...

Pence needs to be much more forceful.

Which explains why Pence will not follow Trump into the Oval Office ... He doesn't know how to fight.

I am not downplaying this, but I am not going to play into thr hysteria either.

If you are 60 and over with certain enderlying health conditions and you get this.. and get a bad case or it, it is very serious... but for the rest of the population the threat is relatively low.

None of that bothers me even a smidgen.

Think back to the early rallies, and Trump’s very earliest presentation of his planned immigration policy.

Trump’s mother came through Ellis Island.
The border wall has always been intended to be inter-spaced with processing centers including quarantine and medical treatment facilities. And replaying video of Trump’s early rallies with make that irrefutably clear.

I don’t give a crap if Trump feeds his enemies rope to hang themselves, and I will damned well make any of his weak allies eat this if too if they squawk when Trump drops the gallows trap.

Big news stories always bring out the fruits and nuts. Most recently we saw this with Kobe Bryant’s death.

This Wu Flu story is especially engaging for the rubbernecking Wu Flu groupies because they can stock up on toilet paper and feel like they are part of the story themselves. Obviously, they can’t do that with a plane crash or celebrity death.

It’s also important to note that just because one is over 70 or over 80 it is by no means a death sentence.

Yes, over 80 was around 14%. Not ideal, but still very good chances that any one person in that age category can still have good outcomes.

Despite what Pence said, the article blames Trump... as usual.
