Fear and misinformation about the coronavirus is spreading faster than the virus itself, according to elected officials and Asian-American community leaders in Brooklyn, who said two troubling incidents are raising a great deal of concern. Assemblymember Mathylde Frontus fired a member of her staff after the worker shared an anti-Asian message on Facebook that urged patrons to avoid Chinese restaurants during the epidemic.

The staffer is right, and was fired due to political correctness.
Extended Chinese families send one person or a group to theirhome village areas every Chinese New Year. Its a deeply rooted custom.
In this case the Chinese lunar New Year coincided with the COVID-19 epidemic in China. So iot is accurate to assume that many Chinese returned showing no symptoms but carried the virus into the USA.
So it is accurate to assume that Chinese eating establishments could be risky ON THE FACTS.This is true for other businesses operated by ethnic Chinese as well, including Hotels, and Bars.
I myself love Chinese food but I have decided to forgo eating at Chinese restaurants for 60 days, into the warmer weather season.
And I am not a racist. I am just smart.
There was a post on one of the gun boards about Asians in LA arming up just in case. Given the history of ghetto types rioting in LA, I can’t say I blame them. The roof Koreans during the Rodney King riots were a lesson for anyone paying attention.

I hope she hasn’t been targeted herself. I can understand someone being wary about something like eating at a restaurant where the owners/employees go back & forth to China, but it makes no sense to be nasty.
Why on earth should anyone remain employed when they suggest people should avoid Chinese restaurants? Talk about hate and racism. My goodness.
I had a business lunch the other day at a Chinese restaurant.
I joked that I was going to order Szechuan Bat and a Corona.
Our Chinese waiter was not amused.

the virus does not care if you are racist or not when it infects you.
closing just asian business in not really the correct approach now, we need complete quarantines or close all borders now. (to slow down infection to buy time)
