Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte announced on Monday that the government has locked down the entire country in an attempt to deal with the outbreak of the coronavirus, which originated in China.

“Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte said the measures, which come into effect on Tuesday, were necessary to defend the most fragile members of the community,” the BBC reported. “He added that the best thing for the citizens of Italy was to stay at home. Italy’s coronavirus death toll jumped on Monday by 97 to 463. It is the worst-hit country after China.”

Italy depends HEAVILY on tourism, their entire economy relies on tourism. They waited too long to shut down travel.

Italy and Japan have large elderly population. So that’s a major factor.

This statistic illustrates the percentage of elderly population in Italy from 2009 to 2019. The elderly population is defined as people aged 65 and over. According to data, the share of elderly people in the Italian society constantly grew, reaching 22.8 percent as of 2019

Conveniently favors resolution of two Italian domestic crises: the sad state of Italian banks, which want the ECB to prop them up, and the African migrant problem, which Italians want to stop.

Between lots of retirees living in Italy, heavy smoking and the very physical way Italians greet each other, no wonder the disease afflicted so many in Italy.

Hai ragione!

italy is pro-chinese

and it is known that many people from the Wenzhou region have technology/factory in Italy that hires a lot of chinese from wenzhou....

so when Wuhan shutdown due to Wuhan Pneumonia , people with relatives in wenzhou all made it there.

Today was the biggest daily stock market drop since 12/1/2008 where S&P dropped 8.9% during 2008 great recession. What happened next 1 day later S&P popped 4% and 1 week later S&P was up a whopping 11.5% and that was in a lot worse economy than today.
A big pop could be coming

The Chinese obviously engineered this virus to solve Europe’s national pension and elder care deficit problem. Chinese soft power in action. At this rate, Chinese passport holders are gonna get well acquainted with three Latin words with the initials PNG, and I’m not referring to Papua New Guinea.
