The coronavirus could be up to 1,000 times more infectious than SARS because it plagues the body in the same way as HIV and Ebola, scientists warn.
Experts initially presumed the spread of COVID-19 would follow the same trajectory as the SARS outbreak in 2002/3, because the viruses are almost identical genetically.

Yeah, well when I asked the question, there was no link. That is why I asked. So how do we know that this is legitimate? I don’t trust the Daily Mail anymore the I trust the New York Slimes. 8>)
I hate to say it, but when I read a sentence as emotionally loaded as the one this phrase came from:
“scientists warn as they discover it plagues the body”
I disbelieve everything in the article and anything written by the same source.
I’ll wait to believe any of this until an objective source confirms it, if that should ever happen.
Dont buy Chinas story: The coronavirus may have leaked from a lab, by Steven W. Mosher, New York Post, February 22, 2020.It's on Breitbart, all over Reddit, PatriotPost, etc.And then there is this little-known fact: Some Chinese researchers are in the habit of selling their laboratory animals to street vendors after they have finished experimenting on them.
You heard me right.
Instead of properly disposing of infected animals by cremation, as the law requires, they sell them on the side to make a little extra cash. Or, in some cases, a lot of extra cash. One Beijing researcher, now in jail, made a million dollars selling his monkeys and rats on the live animal market, where they eventually wound up in someones stomach.
Then there is this seemingly more credible bit from The Epoch Times, an anti-communist Chinese paper. It seems that maybe the conservative sites above have picked this up. But note that the researcher was jailed and his practice of selling animals ended eight years ago. That doesn't mean others aren't doing it, of course.
Chinese Netizens Question Source of the Coronavirus Outbreak
by Olivia Li, The Epoch Times, February 6, 2020Xu Bo, a well-known IT magnate and billionaire in China, cited reports and articles to support Wus statements.
In his blog, Xu cited a news report about a lawsuit against biologist Li Ning.
Li is an academician of China Engineering Academy, and a former professor at China Agricultural University. His research was focused on transgenic animals in agriculture. The judgment in Lis case, which came out on Jan. 2 this year, stated that between 2008 and 2012, Lis lab sold experimental pigs, cows, and milk to local markets. These animal and animal products were bought using research funds; but Li and his fellow colleagues pocketed the money, a total of 10,179,201 yuan ($1,460,304), from the sale of these animals and animal products.
Li was sentenced to 12 years in prison for embezzlement [NOT for selling potentially dangerous animals].
The,measure of infection an estimated R0 of 2.5 (infect 2 to 3 people) would fall well below the R0s for measles and pertussis, which tend to be between 12 and 18. These arent the only diseases that seem to be more contagious than 2019-nCoV. ...
Thank you.
That’s the most accurate and scientific way of assessing how contagious the virus is.
Attracts = attacks
Since you can catch AIDS from toilet seats, is this virus the same?
Housing supply should skyrocket, as so many Chinese owners succumb to COVID-19 and their kids sell the properties. Likewise, the number of wealthy Chinese looking for homes in the Lower Mainland should also drop. Increased housing supply coupled with decreased demand may make housing almost affordable in Hongcouver!
What a load of crap, there have been Chinese flying here for months and months, give me a break, FEAR FEAR FEAR
Wait you are the same alarmist that was trying to poke fun at me for suggesting a ~2% mortality rate (that will go down as more sero testing happens) a couple of weeks ago. You were trumpeting a 20% mortality rate by diving deaths by recoveries. I told you that you number would collapse over time and guess what? I was dead on right! Your silly inflated 20% is down to 7% and falling...just like I said.

shouldn’t trust the media posting on this-just fear mongering and they are rotting for this to bring down Trump-most people don’t realize the common cold is a type of coronavirus-except rate of infection is less
Yep, I’m also the guy that said the data shows the death rate has been steadily falling.
Ya think?
One of the advantages of living in the country and working remotely means my exposure is quite limited. Perhaps I will be among the survivors. 8>)
Now that there is grim.
If it's a bioweapon - and it looks that way - I wonder if the Chinese have 'the cure' - the antidote....

Imagine mononucleosis doing the same thing.
