The coronavirus could be up to 1,000 times more infectious than SARS because it plagues the body in the same way as HIV and Ebola, scientists warn.

Experts initially presumed the spread of COVID-19 would follow the same trajectory as the SARS outbreak in 2002/3, because the viruses are almost identical genetically.

I’m wondering if Trump and Co. know that this came out of one of China’s labs, and therefore was very quick to halt all travel out of China. Maybe China had high hopes of infecting us.

Diseases aren’t political. They’re effective killers.

There are leftists who believe that humans are the enemies of the planet and need to be exterminated. There are enemies of America who would trade their lives to kill us (and get 72 virgins in the process).

If you aren’t a ‘prepper,’ become one fast.

And the example I always used was “what happens when the common cold (yes, a coronavirus) learns some tricks from HIV.”

DAMN YOU! This is all your fault!

Darksheare is off the hook on this one...

SCIENCE Magazine says this:

https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2020/01/wuhan-seafood-market-may-not-be-source-novel-virus-spreading-globally

So if it’s not bats, what is it?

Wuhan is the location of a bioweapon facility close to the market where the virus is said to have originated.

I draw my own conclusions based on the facts presented.

Now, on what basis do you reject my hypothesis?

Come on.

More sensationalism and fear mongering.

I don’t believe in anthropogenic global warming or the tooth fairy either.

The chicom response to cv is a bit overwhelming though making it very suspicious.

‘This virus may use the packing mechanisms of other viruses such as HIV.’

More evidence that this IS NOT something that just “evolved” in the wild or is caused by eating or being around any animal, rodent, bird or insect of any kind.
Also, the way the virus infects people and binds to human cells more readily shows human intervention. Apparently, Sars didn’t kill enough of their populace.

Come to think of it, I haven’t heard a peep from the 1 million-plus protesters in Hong Kong recently.

“It means one of two things A) the virus is widespread but so mild that hundreds of millions of cases are undetected or B) the virus is actually not infectious at all.”

You feel sure those are the only two choices. :-)

I didn’t reject anything. I asked what your expertise is in this area.

You have none.

No doubt this COVID-19 is a virulent pathogen. However it is critically important, although politically incorrect, to define just what population groups are susceptible to infection and have a high mortality once infected. Given the fact that Caucasians and Africans living and working in Wusan the epicenter of COVID-19, did not become infected or die at the same rate of the endemic Chinese, that the region in Italy of the outbreak has a high concentration of Chinese immigrants and guest workers, and that Iran, where the Silk Road transveersed with Chinese caravans and the Mongols conquered, has a population carrying a significant Asian genome, this virus most readily infects and is most lethal to Asians. Hence it is not likely that there will be a general outbreak in the United States but disease can be expected where there are concentrations of Asians. The virus is already here given the large numbers of travelers from Wusan that arrived in multiple points in the US from Dec15-Jan 23.

Why is this posted without a source link?

This is a big claim to be making without a source.
