Advice to Democrats: Forget Iowa and New Hampshire
Washington Post (democracy dies in darkness) ^ | 2/16/20 | Jennifer Rubin

Posted on 02/16/2020 4:59:38 PM PST by Libloather

Former Georgia gubernatorial candidate and voting rights advocate Stacey Abrams hit the nail on the head, telling voters not to let two small, virtually all-white states tell them whom to pick as the Democratic presidential nominee:

‘We need a more representative sample’ — Exclusive: @staceyabrams believes that our Iowa and New Hampshire first primary system is silencing voters of color

She makes the logical case that only 65 delegates have been selected (distributed rather evenly among several candidates) — out of a grand total of 1,991 who would need to be pledged to win the nomination on the first ballot. From this non-representative sample of nearly all white voters, we “know nothing” (or virtually nothing) about how this will all turn out.

**SNIP**

Voters would be well advised to heed Abrams’s admonition that the outcome rests in the hands of delegates outside of two small overwhelmingly white states. If voters don’t like the choices those states made, they can ignore them and the pundits who insist we know more than we do.

The Democratic Party is openly admitting it hates White people and wants to disenfranchise them.

Bads news, Whites are still 60% of the country.

Well, we see Stacey Abrams has weighed in, playing the race card.

Question —. If seeing Iowa and New Hampshire go first is so unfair, so objectionable, then why in the Sam Hill do Democrats schedule these events in this manner? A political party does not have to have these states go first in the process. They don’t have to have primaries and caucuses at all. They could have Stacey Abrams draw names out of a hat and pick nominees that way.

It seems really funny to me, that various Democrats are bitching about this, when their own political party decided to do things this way.

Stacey plays the race card...and completely fails to notice how many male voters “of color” are going to defect to Team Trump - in direct rejection of politicians like herself. :)

What does this have to do with race? Democrats are obsessed with race. Were all of the human race.

Isn’t this the same system that nominated Barack Obama? I am confused.

We want them to move the first caucus out of Iowa and the first primary out of New Hampshire.

It will cause a s&^%storm that could turn the Democratic Party into a dinosaur party like the Whigs—and the reason has nothing to do with race.

(This is our little secret—the veteran pols know why this is—but the dingbats at the Slimes have no clue. Some lessons are best learned the hard way.)

I think he had super delegates like Hi Larry. This is the first year they don’t.

Doomberg is the wild card. They won’t be able to resist his money.

Superdelegates are still around, they just can’t vote on the first ballot. So if Bernie doesn’t gain an absolute majority, and a sizeable one at that, then he’s likely to have it stolen from him at a contested convention.

With their center's collapse, Democrats' only hope of reconstituting it is by redefining the center. As the Democratic primary race moves leftward, the definitions of their candidates are moving right. It resembles a play in which we are expected to accept that the same actors have become different characters simply because of a costume change... Once the debates began eight months ago, the field's small right quickly disappeared, as the campaign moved decidedly to the left. Even as its candidate lineup barely shrunk, its ideological range narrowed greatly, extending only from center-left to extreme left... Just two contests in and Biden has collapsed. He has gone from front-runner to back-burner... Now the Democratic field... runs from left to extreme left; and to the extent that the remaining candidates are trying to differentiate themselves, it's by moving even still further left. -- Democrats redefine center as theirs collapses

Democrats are racist because they have an all-white field.

Let’s play the Race Card again.

If there’s one thing Stacy Abrams is an expert on, it’s winning elections.
