John Kelly Finally Lets Loose on Trump
The Atlantic ^ | 2/13/20 | Peter Nicholas

Posted on 02/13/2020 4:07:30 AM PST by DoodleDawg

Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman, the former National Security Council aide and impeachment witness President Donald Trump fired Friday, was just doing his job, former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly told students and guests at a Drew University event here Wednesday night.

Over a 75-minute speech and Q&A session, Kelly laid out, in the clearest terms yet, his misgivings about Trump’s words and actions regarding North Korea, illegal immigration, military discipline, Ukraine, and the news media.

Kelly, a retired Marine Corps general, said that Vindman is blameless and was simply followed the training he’d received as a soldier; migrants are “overwhelmingly good people” and “not all rapists”; and Trump’s decision to condition military aid to Ukraine on an investigation into his political rival Joe Biden upended long-standing U.S. policy.

Gen. John Kelly’s recent speech at Drew University makes me thinks he might be the author of the anti-Trump book, “Anomyous”.

I think there may be a bit of a difference between the US government using money to persuade its own states to do something vs persuading a foreign power to do something.

Kelly may indeed have said all those Anti-Trump things but The Atlantic is the wrong messenger.

Satan is a liar who will tell you the truth 9 times straight and then on the tenth time drop a lie on you.

The Atlantic is a liar that lures you with facts until they’ve roped you in.

Don’t let them do it.

Get a different source.

Immigration like the one that brought me here with my parents used to be based on the fact local American labor was not available for that skill at the wages being offered.

Fixed it.

Kelly was a very bad pick from the beginning.

A blanket party should be held for whoever recommended him.

Good riddance.

Kelly leaves his legacy: “The Military Chain of Command is soooo 1700s.”

Sure, but ny parents were skilled tailors who apprenticed since they were kids. I became an airplane mechanic - I did not go into the family business because you can't train in America as a tailor as a kid apprentice and go to school.

I can go into other examples of shoe repair cobblers. Maybe you can make that a job that pays so well that kids in America will demand trade schools to teach it and get into that profession when they are 10 year olds.

But that does not mean an endorsement of mass immigration like we have now. just targeted immigration.

IF that is a true statement from Kelly, then Trump was wise to fire him.

No, sorry—Jared speaks daily to both his criminal dad and to Rupert Murdoch. Murdoch is also on the board of Genie Energy (https://medium.com/@zanting/ira-greenstein-jared-kushner-s-criminal-deal-with-israel-behind-u-s-873da65223ce).

“..and Trump’s decision to condition military aid to Ukraine on an investigation into his political rival Joe Biden...”

So, if you don’t have any evidence for that, then just assert it to be a proven fact and move on.

We don’t need to import any more people PERIOD. A country that is rapidly de industrializing doesn’t need one more “migrant”. I say this as a third generation Italian.

I already told you we don’t need immigration now - especially the mass kind. Maybe some exceptions pop up here or there like there is a nurses shortage and until the demand is filled by Americans graduating nursing school you allow Filipino immigration for those skilled as nurses since their country seems to produce many nurses or some such.

At one point or another, the disloyal out themselves.

Glad to see Mike Mulvaney is still in the CoS driver’s state. And did you notice? He is practically invisible. All the kudos go to Trump.

Plus, the guy is an organizational genius — like his boss!

See, you still don't get it. Those Filipinos and imported help in general ensure wages are kept low and to discourage a growing domestic supply. Immigrant short circuit the supply and demand curve in favor of the employer over the worker. We've had ENOUGH OF THAT. It is CAUSING SOCIAL AND ECONomIC CHAOS.

Nope - I have an economics degree. Nurses under this hypothetical would lower wages if there was a overcapacity of nurses. If there is a shortage of nurses then importing nurses (again using this as a hypothetical) would not decrease wages. The immigration would be cut off as soon as a local nurse population is created. I use nursing because that takes time to create a nurse via education.
