I’ve been in many chinese factories. God only knows what’s in those chemicals, how they were “tested”, and what quality controls are in place for usage.

Stared several days ago - no on knows what they are spraying.
This is the incompetent Chinese trying to look like they’re responding to the problem seriously.
Last week, they were spraying bleach. Either shoddy reporting, no one knows what it is or they’re trying out different chemicals.
Like building a new hospital in a few days, the spraying of disinfectant fog is public health theatrics. They are signs of panic, to be sure, but they are also signs of a desperate effort by the regime to convince the public that they are on top of the epidemic.

As a bureaucrat, doing something visual is far better than doing nothing. To soothe fears of thousands of women distraught with fear over the well being of their children is a worthwhile endeavor even if the effort is not real.
