Not watching.
If the celebrities really cared about the planet they would line up in a circular firing squad.
Now _that_ would be worth watching.

His British TV series “Extras” is a scathing denunciation of the egotism and venality of the star system.

He needs to do a red carpet roast, where he live tweets jokes as the “stars” walk by. Oh, I would follow THAT tweet!
I recall when they used to be in early April. Not sure why they are on now.
Huh. You’re right! It looks like they began moving them up into February from March, and previously April, in 2004:

Maybe they’ve wanted to get in their political digs soon after the SOTU :-)
(Tell me how it goes, if you’re watching. I have to wash my hair tonight; and haven’t gone to a movie in the past year anyway.)
Sorry not watching as well. Just Freeping a bit before bed.
Sweet dreams :-)
Go get em Ricky!
I saw the Sting for the first time around 1998 or so. Came across a little gay for some reason.
That was the argument my husband and I had today. Him - Isnt the Oscars supposed to be in April? Me - I thought they were in March. We obviously never watch.
Me too.
Judging from the speeches (what I read), I'm so glad I didn't watch it. The awardees have gone from PC tedium to open hostility toward conservatives.
During this one, they seemed particularly sullen (again, from what I read). I'm surprised they didn't just get up and moon the audience.
I can’t remember why it happened this way but the day The Sting was released it only premiered in two theaters that day. The major one in NYC and at the Charleston Air Force Base Theater. My dad read an article in the paper that it was going to happen that way which is why I went to see it at the base theater. I was only 15 at the time.
Hell, I didn’t even watch it then and those were GREAT movies!
Never was my cup of tea. Thank me for doing my job...huh?
They have been shuffling things around hoping I think to get better ratings. Again going way back it used to be 5 movies for best picture then suddenly just for that category they doubled it to 10 or something. I have no idea how many were best picture noms last night. I recall also technical awards which is another whole slew of them had their own separate lunchtime awards hosted by some star which was rapidly summarized during the 3 to 4 hour marathon. One could do that with most of the other awards as well and have a 1 or 2 hour show with the 4 acting awards best picture and director and send everyone off to bed at a decent hour in east at least. :)
Those were college days for me. We watched all kinds of cheesy stuff. Monty Python’s Flying Circus. SNL. (The originals.) Etc.
