PBS announces Jim Lehrer died this morning at age 85.
Leher interviewed Bill Clinton, who flat out lied about Monica.I wonder what Leher thought about that ?
No, but if so, I think we might know
We had several threads about this years ago, naming names
Need someone with a lexis/nexis account so you can make timestamps when something is posted.
Twitter is helpful there also you must take screenshots and note the dates and times of the tweet.
I think a lot of it is coordinated by that jackass David Brock at Media Matters:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Media_Matters_for_America
His prior partner, MacNeil, was a better journalist with a bit less bias.
I did watch the News Hour with them for years, though. When MacNeil retired, I largely stopped watching, because his substitute was a liberal lady (Gwen Eiffel?).
I thought I might have saved it off line. the FR archives only go back to 2014 sadly

“I liked Lehrer. Despite his left leanings, he always conducted himself with class and professionalism. RIP”
Definitely. Lehrer and McNeil were decent enough and nothing like today’s democrats.
A decade ago it was through Journolist and a decade before that the dnc website had a daily talking point (and guide to buttering up a talk radio host) subsection.
It still exists, we arent supposed to know they collude on who will ask what at press conferences.
Agreed. Memory eternal.
Dittos.
Sounds strange, lol.
“I miss David Brinkley:”
During the Tienanmen Square protests in China, Brinkley said something like: “Karl Marx called for the workers of the world to rise up and overthrow the ruling class. But I’m not sure this is quite what he had in mind.”
Still cracks me up!
I shed no tear for this political lefty propaganda specialist.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Leher was a decent factual reporter, but as a spin artist he was dyed in the wool commie.
RIP.
San Fran Nan heaped high praise on Lehrer. Nuff said.
I was an adherent of the McNeil Lehrer news hour for decades.
I remember “Crown Oklahoma” as being a good novel.
My problem with Lehrer was that he was obviously involved in sacking MacNeiil — who was asking too many hard questions about the whole Bosnian war fiasco.
Yup. On the very day the scandal broke. Lehrer didn’t go easy on him, and you could see the fear in Slick Willie’s eyes.
