Those two Washington Post reporters sure have specific and detailed knowledge of what went on at those Pentagon meetings. I guess they must have had seats at the table. Who knew that reporters had such access?
On the other hand, maybe they’re just making things up. After all, that’s the way the Post usually rolls.

The flag officers seem to be asking our soldiers to become soldiers of fortune or mercenaries for free.

Reading the whole article it looks like the brass were trying to justify a post ww2 stasis, as though that is the only way to do it, and Trump shined a critical spotlight on it. Billions to install a missile defense and the Koreans aren’t paying for it?
