Sadly, there are probably observers outside most of our strategic bases, sending info on changes in traffic, via social media. Nothing the military hasn’t been dealing with for a long time.

By making them more uncomfortable but not attacking them, it is the mullahs that will get ‘the horn’ because they cannot supply or protect their people. More discomfort, more chance of revolution, IMO.

An Iraqi Muslim business person, we knew, felt they had sold their businesses to have funds to go back to Iran when something like this happened and have cash to help the good Persians.

Well, Al Assad (as we call it) is a big air base. 10 miles to the perimeter defense ring. Probably Shahab-2 missiles were used. They’re not too accurate, about 1/4 mile CEP.

I’d also agree with this, providing no US casualties, or extensive damage to our facilities/equipment. I do understand others who want to send them to the Stone Age...but I’d prefer that the Mullahs be taken out by the masses there, or at least give the masses and opportunity to take them out first - less change of things going out of control.
I think the answer as to whether this ‘attack’ was meant to escalate or de-escalate will be clear in the way Trump reacts, either verbally or via Twitter.
