“The second the Shah was kicked out of Iran, that was the end of Iran.
We knew some Persians. who were here before the Shah was deposed, and some who escaped the Mullahs. They warned us about the new Iran with the Mullahs. How we would be portrayed as the Great evil Satan.
A son was in College and had several Persian Classmates, and they told him the same thing our Persian friends said. The Iranian thugs who came into his college were bathless and complete dirty animals.
About 2 years, ago the Persians, we knew were selling their excellent businesses in California and just disappeared. An Iraqi Muslim business person, we knew, felt they had sold their businesses to have funds to go back to Iran when something like this happened and have cash to help the good Persians.
We will see.
I was surprised that local news here in LA went to Beverly Hills(And of course Westwood) its where all the Persians live..and they were all thrilled that Soleimani was dead, of course they were concerned about going to war with Iran(No one wanted that) and they were worried about their family members still in Iran. Why did Carter want to get rid of the Shah so badly? It would be great if one day Iran could be a true democracy again, but I doubt that will ever happen..unless the Iranian people step up and say no more
