The satirical website is being charged with “disinformation” for attacking all the wrong people. Did you know that CNN has a reporter on the “disinformation” beat?
I’ll skip the cheap joke about his never having to leave the office, and note that the network is now grousing about the Christian conservative satire site the Babylon Bee, which has earned the ire of a number of liberals for making jokes at their expense.
The story drawing CNN’s outrage — “Democrats Call For Flags To Be Flown At Half-Mast To Grieve Death Of Soleimani” — is good satire. It slightly exaggerates the reaction many on the left have had to the killing of the Iranian mass murderer. Anyone who read the Washington Post’s headline calling Soleimani a “most revered military leader,” watched ABC’s Martha Raddatz offering adulatory treatment of the terrorist from Iran, or listened to Elizabeth Warren struggle to call him a murderer after her initial statement is in on the joke.
That some people believe the Babylon Bee piece is also a sign that it is good satire. How many Americans, after all, still believe that Sarah Palin, rather than Tina Fey, said, “I can see Russia from my house?” Satire relies on a level of plausibility. If the only brand of political humor permitted is vapid enough for even the dumbest or most humorless person to comprehend, we’re going to end up in a world with a lot more Andy Borowitzes.
CNN’s Donie O’Sullivan offers only three examples of gullible conservatives buying the satire — the Babylon Bee piece has over 500,000 shares on Facebook — but he’s alarmed that too many Americans have been hoodwinked. “To put this in perspective,” he writes, “this is the same number of engagements the top NY Times and CNN ..

All speech is offensive to liberals. If you need to say something, just bark it instead, like a dog. Only not a big, angry dog—more like a small, timid dog that only barks when told to.

They don’t matter anymore.
Donald Trump alone reaches over 60 million people in the blink of an eye on twitter.
They are trying to block conservatives on social media but it is a very small drop in the bucket, their success rate.
Millions and millions are learning the truth and destroying idiots like Rose McGowan and Kaepernick on twitter, and it’s a wonderful thing.

What they’re REALLY upset about is one piece in the BB getting shared more than than the top stories from the Old Gray Whore and the Commie News Network garner in A WEEK.
Hypocritical of CNN and NYT to skewer a satire site when they are the biggest purveyors of fake news on the planet.
It’s only okay when the Onion, Funny or Die, Hard Times, et al do it against Christian conservatives.
Snopes continues to fact check Babylon Bee...so CNN doesn’t have to...

I’m surprised to hear that CNN has a separate reporter for disinformation. I thought they all practiced it over there.
I have never been hoodwinked by reading a Babylon Bee Story. They’re Funny and bitingly satirical. I never mistook it for news but the satirical pointers are Always on target.
Now if CNN wanted to become a Satirical outlet we could have another look at it.
I read an article that Webster’s Dictionary is planning on changing the definition of ‘trash’ to simply one word: CNN.

Nothing exposes the truth like satire.
Satire is generally frowned upon on the internet. You almost never find it there. Irony is like five, right out.
I posted the above babylon bee article about flags at half mast on Free Republic Facebook and it was removed by an administrator, whether facebook or FR they didn’t explain.
I just drove on. Had no idea how to point out I used the exact correct title, and I posted only a link. The link started out Babylon Bee, so it was obvious satire. But it was taken down.
