About this time in every presidential nomination contest there is talk of a brokered convention. As if on cue, were hearing it again.
The thought of such a convention races the hearts of political junkies everywhere. It conjures the image of power brokers deciding the fate of the nation in a smoke-filled room. In 1924, it took 103 ballots for Democrats to settle on dark horse John W. Davis.
While it is not likely the 2020 Democratic nomination will be brokered in a backroom rule changes have made that more difficult it is possible that the convention could be contested, which means it would require more than one ballot to select a nominee.

Right now it's the Bolsheviks vs. the Mensheviks in the Democrat party. Warren and Sanders are the two main Bolshies, with Warren down and Sanders up. However, Warren's just received a significant semi-endorsement from Obola himself and many of his people have come out for her, so it's definitely premature to count her out.
Biden keeps staggering along ahead of the pack, but is likely to lose badly in IA and NH, leaving him tp pray for a big Afro-American vote in SF to keep him going.
Then comes Super Tuesday with CA and Bloomberg running a multi-million dollar air war against all of the others. However, he's shown such a withering contempt for the basic democratic (deliberate small "d") selection process in the Democrat primaries, has such low approval in the Afro-American community, and mega-billionaire that he is, is unlikely to peel off any of the Bolshevik votes.
All of the above mean there's a good chance Warren and Sanders will split the Bolshevik vote, Biden and Bloomberg will split the Mensheviks, and the other candidates will pick up the remaining crumbs. Throw in the Democrats' proportional voting rules and there's a strong chance they'll fail to come up with a decisive front runner, meaning a deadlocked convention.
Dont believe the leftist hype
Behind the scenes Hillary is hoping for this to happen
Biden or Bernie will be the nominee
If it happens, an Obama will steal the nomination from Hillary again.
It’s not going to happen. The chances are zero. Neither party would allow such chaos in their well scripted conventions.
Its not only possible its damn near mandatory in order to get the leftest supporter they want into the race. Ref: Obama..Hillary...etc. etc...!
[They] are talking about it, moar and moar...
This writer knows nothing about how the Democrats party operates.
Michael will have the support of his husband Barry “the usurper.”
As the article indicates, pretty much every 4 years, there’s talk of a brokered or contested convention on one side or the other (usually the non-incumbent side), but the convention chaos never materializes. I assume it’ll be the same this year, but I do think that Biden is a weak, paper-tiger front-runner. He’s probably just bland enough (to the Dem base) to hold off the crazies (Sanders, Warren), but maybe not. His nascent senility/dementia may stop him from going the distance.
Michelle/Hillary!
Plan on it.
There will not be a deadlocked convention. The Democrats have super delegates just in case the voters choose someone who they don’t approve.
“”””””Michelle/Hillary!
Plan on it.”””””””””””””””””
Not a chance in hell. Hillary will never be a candidate for any race ever again.
Barrys husband would shrivel in a minute once President Trump started asking about all the corruption in the 2016 election which was led by hussein.
In brokered convention, the old super delegate rules will apply. Hillary owns them.
This year the Democrats are not at all “well scripted.” Their various candidates keep going up and down with different parts of the party going in and out. Just look at how former members of the Obola administration are split between Biden and Warren, with AOC and her accompanying Bolsheviks going for Sanders. Then there’s Bloomberg, reportedly worth about 55 billion dollars, who’s already carpet bombing their primaries with money and doesn’t seem to have anybody’s support but his own.
If Dem party internal polls show that Hillary isn’t 100% certain to beat Trump then she won’t run. Even she doesn’t want to be a THREE time loser!
The DNC nominee will be Hillary Clinton again, everything leading up to it is charade. Every candidate other than Gabbard Yang and Sanders is a stalking horse for Her, deliberately offering redundant options to split the vote and make sure no one can win on the first ballot at the convention.
Come the second ballot, those notorious superdelegates can vote again and Her has all their FBI files.
She is running, and she will run no matter what. If the polls say she will lose, she will make the polls say otherwise or else.
This is a scorpion-on-the-frog situation. Will to power is Her essential nature. She cannot sit aside and retire in peace, it is not who she is.
Once the Super Tuesday portion starts, one candidate usually starts to build voting momentum
But it’s already probably a safe bet that the “too-radicals” (Bernie, Warren, Mayor Pete, & Tom Steyer) WON’T be the choice ... who does that leave?
Biden.
Michelle Obama is a far longer shot to be a candidate than Clinton is.
Really don’t see why anyone would seriously suggest M.O., a wholly repulsive character with a terrible record and zero experience as a candidate. Far too many liabilities in that package to ever consider trying to sell it to the public.
Also, it’s very unlikely this country votes for a minority Dem again after Obama. (Minority GOP they would IMO.) The first time around was so bad no one is going to go for a second round.
