Tulsi Gabbard, encouraged by Trump, may seek spoiler role

It is not exactly breaking news that Tulsi Gabbard will not win the Democratic presidential nomination. Since announcing her candidacy in January, the U.S. House member from Hawaii has never polled higher than 2 percent in the RealClearPolitics polling average.

That may not stop Gabbard from mounting a third-party White House bid and having a major impact on the 2020 election, and one person who is welcoming that prospect is President Trump.

“I give her respect,” Trump said of Gabbard during a Florida speech over the weekend at the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit. “She didn’t vote the other day. I give her a lot of respect because she knew it was wrong. She took a pass.”

Gabbard explained that her vote of “present” on the two articles of impeachment against Trump was meant to break the “zero-sum game” of political gridlock in Washington.

“Rush Limbaugh’s stupid “operation chaos” stopped us from getting a good candidate because people thought they were being way too clever by registering as Dems for the primaries at his behest...Let’s not go down that dead-end road again.”

So we would have gotten Romney in 2008, rather than 2012.

Somehow I don’t think our conservative would have been fulfilled if Rush had stayed out.

“ I think she’d take votes from Trump.”

I think she’d take some of those Dims who might vote for Pres. Trump but would never admit it and the few never-Trumpers in the GOPe who would vote for Pol Pot rather than the President.

The other Dim candidates are so weak that I don’t see it blocking Pres. Trump’s re-election.

"If she can’t even get above 2%, her trying a 3rd party stint is delusional."

Think of the votes Jill Stein took away from Hillary. It matters.

That is what bothered me about the Republican nominees in the years before Trump it was always their turn to run . It did not matter if they could win or that they were right for the country. Mc Cain and Romney were losers from the start.

Nothing like a die hard pro-abortion Democrat! She did vote in the impeachment sham vote. She voted in a cowardly PRESENT vote! I do not see how that garners her any praise. She was a coward by voting present.

Nobody even tried. Rush had people more concerned about the Dem candidates that the GOPers. Big mistake, and I blame him for our lack of a good candidate.

Well she’s already said she won’t run as a third party candidate.

Trump could do that just by saying he’d nominate Tulsi Gabbard to some veteran administration or military leadership position.

I think tulsi is going to run 2024. the game she is playing is aimed at the election 5 years from now not today....we should be very warry of her...I believe she will be the politicion to pick up the pieces of the demacrat party after it self destructs. I also believe as smart as she is playing it we need to be ready to take her down.

She’s already positioned herself as the neutral, moderate SANE pro-American candidate against the radical left. We already know she’s been discriminated against by Big Tech hiding search results and ads.

If she’s pushed out of the DNC primary, she can stand in 2020 and say “I was aiming for middle America, I could have beat Trump and won the election, but you all worked against me. Reject big tech, reject SJWs, and reorg under me to win.”

Yeah, the dems that think the DNC approved choices suck and might vote for Trump may flock to her so they can say they did not vote for the bad orange man.

Even Trump praised her for her vote. That’s basically an endorsement for her.

Not if it takes votes away from Democrats
///////////////////

She will take Reagan Democrats and liberal independents away from Trump. The only third party who would help Trump is one that runs to the left of the democrat nominee

5 year is an awful long time in politics.. !.
Wouldn’t mind seeing the Dem Party lean her way.
These whackos are absurd, and hurting political discourse.
