Winning!
Oh I wish my dear Mother were alive to see this!
She HATED those squiggly light bulbs and had a secret stash of incandescent bulbs so she could see to read her beloved books.
Well, good. We once more have the necessary element to make Easy-Bake ovens feasible. CFLs and LEDs just do not generate enough heat to make their use practical.
Most people have already converted to LED lighting. There are a few cases where incandescent lights are still required, and people should not be hassled about it.
My Lamp.
My Choice.
Hard to believe States are suing the federal government, claiming the feds *must* pass a policy they want!
Ya’ gotta’ luv the Feds. They outlawed incandescents because they used too much electricity while giving tax credits to get people to drive electric cars.
Great ... and I still have not even used up my light bulb stash.
The move has been challenged by 16 states including New York and California who say it would harm state efforts to fight climate change.
************************************
Hmmm..maybe they should just move on to fight something else humans have no control over...maybe they can fight and hold back the ocean tides. Yeah, thats the ticket.
It's not enough that California has AB 32 and New York is (presumably) in the RGGI. No, they must make the entire country suffer.
They just forced a market on us. Follow the money.
Now make stoves all gas....no electric.
I just replaced all the garage incandescent bulbs with LED’s. MUCH better light for the old eyes.
This is great!
I replaced every bulb in and around my house with LEDs a couple of years ago, on the promise that they would last for 10 years.
Maybe its just me, but I’ve found they last no longer than incandescent light bulbs - I’ve replaced at least 20% of them already.
And energy savings? Pfffft! Pennies.
Yay! It’s American to have a choice in what kind of lightbulbs you want! Winning!
Regular bulbs heat in the winter which is an added bonus. Having the regular incandescents is a blessing for my “candle” like lights which really look better with warm light.
I also like the LED (the non-squiggles) because they’re bright and white. They’re also relatively cool for summer. But unfortunately, I don’t think the technology is quite “there” yet. The LEDs pop pretty frequently (at least a couple of duds in an expensive ($20!) six pack pop almost as soon as they’re put in the fixture!) so buying them for me is pretty limited.
My uncle is a BIG Christmas lights and display enthusiast. He even was on TV one year. I am fairly sure that the lights from his display can be seen from space.
He switched to LED and what was a rather large December light bill is only about ten bucks more then it is in January.
We have LEDs and they work better for us. However it is wrong to FORCE people to change. There are many reasons someone might want a incandescent bulb instead of one of the others. And that is fine. They should be allowed the choice.
That’s great. I love giving American adults the right to make decisions for themselves without the nanny state in the way. That being said, I have really grown to like LED bulbs. I hated those twisty CFL bulbs though.
That said, LED lighting has its place in TV and monitor displays, especially in the new 4k ultra-high definition TV's.
I have many extra incandescent lights because over the years I’ve been replacing them with diodes which I like better. They’re now getting cheaper. There was a sale at a hardware store. 4 60 ‘watt’ diodes for $10.
