The Trump administration on Friday said it has finalized a decision to roll back a George W. Bush-era rule to phase out incandescent light bulbs, saying that requirements for energy efficient bulbs would be costly to consumers.
The administration finalized a proposal made in September to roll back the standard that was to come into effect next year. The move has been challenged by 16 states including New York and California who say it would harm state efforts to fight climate change.

Winning!
Oh I wish my dear Mother were alive to see this!
She HATED those squiggly light bulbs and had a secret stash of incandescent bulbs so she could see to read her beloved books.
Well, good. We once more have the necessary element to make Easy-Bake ovens feasible. CFLs and LEDs just do not generate enough heat to make their use practical.
Most people have already converted to LED lighting. There are a few cases where incandescent lights are still required, and people should not be hassled about it.
Finally, enough light to read by.
There's not a single one in my house....
My Lamp.
My Choice.
Hard to believe States are suing the federal government, claiming the feds *must* pass a policy they want!
Ya’ gotta’ luv the Feds. They outlawed incandescents because they used too much electricity while giving tax credits to get people to drive electric cars.
Exactly. I’ve mostly converted, but have a few places where every LED I’ve tried flickers. So those stay incandescent.
Great ... and I still have not even used up my light bulb stash.

Hmmm..maybe they should just move on to fight something else humans have no control over...maybe they can fight and hold back the ocean tides. Yeah, thats the ticket.
It's not enough that California has AB 32 and New York is (presumably) in the RGGI. No, they must make the entire country suffer.

One of our sons is a double engineer, electrical and mechanical, and his company loaded up on the regular bulbs.
He and his bro, personally did that. We loaded up on the old bulbs and still have a few left.
They just forced a market on us. Follow the money.
And LED 3-way bulbs are a hit and miss affair.
I do love the story of some city replacing all of their incandescent street lights with LEDs. The energy cost savings became negated when it was determined the street lights iced over during the winter months, making them effectively useless. Seems the warmth of the incandescent bulbs kept the ice melted away from the fixtures.
I imagine the solution they comes up with to melt ice off the fixtures for the LED bulbs is going to cost the city much more in terms of engineering costs and energy costs for the solution than if they had just stayed with the incandescent bulbs.
Now make stoves all gas....no electric.
I just replaced all the garage incandescent bulbs with LED’s. MUCH better light for the old eyes.
