Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on Monday went on the defensive to justify why his demand for the testimonies of four specific witnesses to members of the upper chamber during its impending impeachment trial of President Donald Trump is warranted, despite opposing witnesses during the impeachment of President Bill Clinton two decades ago.
A decision by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-NY) not to let lawmakers hear from the likes of acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, Mulvaney Senior Adviser Robert Blair, former National security Adviser John Bolton and Office of Management and Budget official Michael Duffey, Schumer said, would amount to a "cover-up."
"The witnesses in '99 had already given grand jury testimony. We knew what they were to say," the New York Democrat told reporters of his prior anti-witness stance. "The four witnesses we called have not been heard from. That is the difference. And it's a difference that is totally overwhelming... There's no analogy."

McConnell should tell Schumer the Senate will have the identical witness policy as the investigative committees in the House. Majority witnesses will be unlimited, minority witnesses are subject to the approval of the majority
The house had the opportunity to subpoena them, and challenge defiance in court if they refused. The investigative portion of this impeachment is approaching its end, as soon as they vote. This is the case they want to stand on, bring it.
Schumer.....
I dont want to go to prison!
Tell him to submit it in writing and you’ll get back to him
No crime and no fact witnesses. No case. No conviction.
It’s always totally different when it’s a Democrat.
You said it. This process which had totally ignored the rules of reasonableness in the 4th and 5th Amendments to even start an investigation (NO articulatable reasonable suspicion and NO probable causee) has been utterly unconstitutional from the beginning.
I hope they impeach the impeachers.
They issued so-called subpoenas for their back room kangaroo court, but not a real subpoena to the public testimony (which still judged Trump guilty, but was looking for a reason.)
In the Senate Impeachment trial, are they able to introduce facts not in evidence? That is, can they start accusing the president of additional crimes?
They also need to enact the Nadler doctrine of having appeals filed after the votes are taken.
These people have no self awareness. Like Barney Fife, they are making fools of themselves and dont even recognize it.
The gentlemen will suspend
Which is code for Pound sand, Chuckie.
Which is actually code for what I ought not say here.
Chucky Schumer manufacturing an issue to cause distraction, division, resentment, hatred... same tired Leftist playbook.
“Schumer Defends Call for Senate Impeachment Trial Witnesses Despite Opposition Under Clinton: ‘Totally Different Situation’”
Yeah. Clinton perjured himself in front of the whole country. Pres. Trump has committed no high crimes or misdemeanors.
Chuck Schumer can always tell you why the only moral, ethical, righteous thing to do is what precisely aligns with the interests of Chuck Schumer. Every time.
Schumer is not controlling this one... reps.. gop.. answer that one.... NO .. get it straight before they run with it in the media!
“Yeah. Clinton perjured himself in front of the whole country. Pres. Trump has committed no high crimes or misdemeanors.”
How about the Special Counsel investigating Clinton found specific crimes while the Special Counsel investigating Trump came up empty.
the Senate is not the fact finders....House is. They send the garbage over..then the Senate decides....nice try.
Schumer, Schiff, etc. Why do the Jews hate us so much?
