Gov. Ralph Northam (D) announced Monday his assault weapons ban will mean AR-15 owners can either register their guns with the government or hand them over.
The Virginia Mercury reported Northam spokeswoman Alena Yarmosky used a statement to say, The governors assault weapons ban will include a grandfather clause for individuals who already own assault weapons, with the requirement they register their weapons before the end of a designated grace period.
Yarmosky made clear details on other gun controls will be made known before the start of the 2020 session in which Democrats take charge.

Sorry, that answer was for a different comment.
Yes, just like Ca, and the whole country should have fought against everyone of the retroactive laws Ca passed.
I predict the Patrick Henry Rifles in Hanover County, ext to Richmond will turn in fully auto toilet plungers.
Hey Gov, GFY.
Reminder to myself. I need to buy an AR while I can. Need to decide on configuration and caliber. For home defense. Any suggestions?
Massive noncompliance.
F**k off, Northam.
And here in CT.
The Governor’s plan is every bit as obnoxious as asking every Jew in Denmark to wear a six-pointed star.

19 April, 1775.

Then the D’s took control of the legislature and found it convenient to ignore state constitutional limits on their actions.
They undid decades of slow RKBA enhancements in a single session.
No point in fleeing, nowhere is truly safe so long as the majority of gun owners remain on the sidelines.
Is this a joke? I don’t understand. There are lots of comments on this thread but is this really happening?
Gov. Ralph Northam is another democrat trying to overcome the 2nd Amendment.
That might have been me. If not then it’s excellent advice. The tricky bit is picking the moment when “NO!!!” becomes BANG! BANG! BANG! “NO!!!”
...or has the Virginia legislature actually passed this law?

No, not yet ... but the DemonRats gained control of the Senate in the last election - the Repub-controlled Senate was standing between Coonman & his gun confiscation plans. It is anticipated that since the DemonRats now control both the House of Delegates & the Senate, they will pass the bills (the Dems have been champing at the bit for a good while, but thwarted by the Senate) & the Governor will sign them.
