Michael Bloomberg launches 2020 presidential bid

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg officially entered the 2020 race Sunday, ending several weeks of will-he-or-won’t-he speculation about a late entry into the already-crowded Democratic primary.

Bloomberg’s entry was preceded by news of a massive television ad buy — $31 million, according to Advertising Analytics, who told NBC News it was the single largest single week expenditure they’d ever tracked. A $30 million buy in the final weeks of the 2012 race for then-President Barack Obama held the previous record.

The ad promotes Bloomberg's record as mayor and then promises "to rebuild the country and restore faith in the dream that defines us: where the wealthy will pay more in taxes and the middle class get their fair share; everyone without health insurance can get it and everyone who likes theirs, keep it; where jobs won't just help you get by but get ahead. And on all those things, Mike Bloomberg intends to make good."

Bloomberg’s mayoral initiatives were to end term limits so he can seek a third term as mayor, ban smoking in bars and try to ban large sodas. He is a waste of space.

I thought he entered a couple weeks ago. Why is he making another announcement?

Yes, he only registered and ran as a GOPer becuase as part of the Wall Street industries and with no prior working political relationships with NYC Dims, he knew he could not get the Dim’s party nomination for mayor, so he conned NYC repubs into thinking he was one of them - which was never true.

In some ways he was pragmatic, but his Liberal side often came through. I think he did make NYC government bigger than it was when he got into office.

Reminding us all that Term Limits was a Republican initiative and the Democrats opposed it because FDR had won four terms. Bloomberg pulled an FDR move to run a third term and barely won.

I do not see him winning the nomination but do not underestimate Bloomie in the general. He did very well for the city. He gave Ray Kelly a free hand at 1PP. He controlled the unions and completely held them in check. While teaching there in his time I felt that his educational approach was just stupid, but he got it implemented and ran roughshod over the educational bureaucracy and gained through Albany, total mayoral control of the schools. These things should make him anathema to Dems,EXCEPT they hate Ttump so much they may just hold their noses and vote for Bloomie.

Just what America needs: a multi-billionaire, anti-2nd Amendment, New York Jew, as President.

I think not

slogan idea “Not the worst mayor in NYC history”.
Thanks to Comrade deBLAsio, even David Dinkins, aka the men's room attendant at the 21 Club, as the late great Bob Grant called him, can no longer claim that title.

“Bloomberg News declares it won’t do any investigative reporting on Mike Bloomberg or any of his rivals in the Democratic primaries.”

but the brother-in-law of a reporter at Bloomberg News testified in a closed-door deposition against President Trump.

[Yes Shorty will spend his money. No, he will never be POTUS. He will come up short.]

I think he’ll have a hard time getting the Democratic nomination - there’s a good reason he has never run as a Democrat in his mayoral bids, which he won 3 for 3. But if he gets that nomination, he’s got a better than even chance of winning.

Trump’s economic growth plan is working very well. He has all these very rich stupid but rich liberals and leftists putting hundreds of millions of dollars out into the economy (yes I know it goes to fellow leftists who pay taxes) and literally getting nothing in return (Steger, Bloomturd, Yang and Soros). Soros has been the most successful and smartest which makes him the most dangerous of them all. He is the one who must be exposed at the state/local level and his red minions defeated.

Moron doesn’t realize that in a restaurant with a drink fountain, everybody orders the small and gets 3 refills. But don’t tell him or he’ll Nazify # of refills, too.
