I won’t be eating any lettuce for awhile. This seems to happen more than it used to.
No wonder vegans always look sick.
So this is a salad bar.
I do not knowingly buy “prepared” vegetables or greens anymore. Too much chance of contamination. Plus I know how to “prepare” greens and veggies. Salads do NOT come from bags at our house.

I read somewhere that many folks who think they have a stomach flu actually have a mild case of food poisoning.
Believe it or not, I try to remember to wash everything from ‘fresh’ produce to the tops of canned goods (including beer) before I use it. You never know who’s disease-smeared fingers were handling it before it got to your kitchen. I’ve heard too many stories of migrant Messicans picking fields of veggies that they relieve themselves in to take a chance and discount them all.
If someone froze a Caesar salad, they’re in for major disappointment when they thaw it out.

Freezing destroys lettuce and other greens. It only takes one try to learn that lesson.
Our nearby Sam’s Club has a yuge walk-in cooler stuffed with bags of various green veggies...lettuce, spinach, greens, cold slaw mixings, etc. Some of it looks pretty rank. I’ve actually seen crates of this stuff behind the coolers...in the OPEN AIR, waiting for who knows what...tio eventually get placed on the cooler, I guess.
Then there’s the complete bagged salads...one bag that contains the leafy stuff with other small bags of various ingredients (nuts, craisins, the salad dressing) dropped right in with the leafy stuff. Open all bags, combine and mix. Voila! Instant salad.

I will not order a salad in a restaurant because I do not trust that the produce has been properly cleaned. That goes for fruit salads, also.
