Suzanne Muscara was found guilty Monday of mailing threatening communication to Sen. Susan Collins last October, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
The Burlington woman had said the letter claiming to have anthrax that she tried to send to Collins’ Bangor home was just “a joke.”
A jury convicted Muscara after just one day of trial Monday at the U.S. District Court in Bangor. Muscara will remain held without bail until her sentencing, News Center Maine reported.
The letter that Suzanne Muscara tried to send had white powder in it. She told FBI agents the white powder was only baking soda and she thought the letter was funny even though it claimed to contain anthrax.
The letter was intercepted by the U.S. Postal Service, which had started screening the senator’s mail after she had received another letter two days earlier claiming to contain poison.
Inside the envelope Muscara sent was an Aetna insurance flyer with a handwritten note reading: “Anthrax!!! HA HA HA.” There was also a drawing of a person with two Xs for eyes and a tongue sticking out with an arrow that read: “You.”

I would tell you you’re full of crap by judging her that way...but I’d be lying, unless I could produce a Democrat, ANY DEMOCRAT, who voted for Kavanaugh...but I cannot.
The closest was Manchin, but even he, the MOST CONSERVATIVE Democrat in the Senate, would not support Kavanaugh until Collins committed first. The other Democrats wasted no time in opposing Kavanaugh, even though virtually all of them knew that the accusations were total BS.
What bites is that Collins is likely to be replaced by a Democrat next year, because of the IDIOTS on our side nominating Roy Moore in Alabama, just to hand that seat to the Democrats - thereby forcing Collins to put her seat at risk for Kavanaugh.
Roy Moore - the LOSER who keeps on losing seats for us.
But everyone else is so far left that she can get by calling herself a Republican.
She's always been a Republican that the GOP can't count on.
In reality, she is a democRAT with a small "r" on her lapel.
