The origin of the universe started with the Big Bang, but how the supernova explosion ignited has long been a mystery - until now.
In a new paper appearing in Science Magazine, researchers detailed the mechanisms that could cause the explosion, which is key for the models that scientists use to understand the origin of the universe.
"We defined the critical criteria where we can drive a flame to self-generate its own turbulence, spontaneously accelerate, and transition into detonation," says Kareem Ahmed, an assistant professor in UCF's Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and co-author of the study.

Bear in mind this is the mechanism of the big bang itself. No one is claiming to know where all that energy came from in the first place.

Where did the matter come from before the big bang? Oh - I guess they haven’t figured THAT out yet-
I personally think the “Big Bang” was the Fall of the Archangel Lucifer (AKA Satan). The universe was his realm.
What does a flame...I.e..oxygen and fuel...turbulence got to do with origin of matter...in a non oxygen...fuel..scenario? Other than stoking their imagination?
Who was holding the lighter. Any forest fire fighter could have explained this great mystery you’ve discovered.
The problem is where did the flame and turbulence come from before the big bang?

A nuclear weapon just out side the fireball is Mach 50. Why would the "big bang" be significantly smaller bang then a nuclear weapon?

Its a model. For example, what does testing a scaled down moedl of a plane in a wind tunnel have to do with the actual airplane?
