Catherine Herridge, a Fox News Channel veteran who has been with that network since it was founded in 1996, is moving to rival CBS News.
She will work as a senior investigative correspondent out of Washington, CBS News said, and will start in November.
Herridge is the second long-serving Fox News journalist to leave the Fox Corporation-owned cable-news outlet in recent weeks, and her departure may give a new boost to recent speculation that the network’s news-side employees have grown frustrated during a period when its opinion hosts have largely used their programs to lend support to President Donald Trump and his administration, sometimes criticizing news reports.
Shepard Smith, another long-serving Fox News journalist who was seen as the network’s main news anchor, surprised viewers earlier this month by announcing his departure on a Friday-afternoon broadcast. Smith had tangled on air with opinion host Tucker Carlson.
Herridge’s move is said to have been in the works for several weeks and is not tied to Smith’s exit.

I pretty much don’t watch FOX now. Fox & Friends for about an hour in the morning then switch to OAN for the real news. Watch OAN of an evening- Ledger Report is usually pretty good.

I think of the many TV personalities that have jumped ship never to be heard again.
For now I believe that CBS determined the best way to take her out was to offer a shit pot of money and a fabulous position. She will get the money but the job was hyperbole

I honestly do not know what Catherine Herridge’s political leanings are. That is what made her so great. Objective reporting with no slant either way. Hen’s teeth in today’s media. If she turns out to be a lefty loon I still respect her. She did not color her reporting. That takes intellect and skill.
Agreed, a great loss for Fox, but Fox is turning into CNN light.
Apparently, she’s never heard of Sharyl Atkisson.

Besides being a very credible and discriminating reporter, Herridge has always been the most elegant woman in TV news. I don’t see anything ‘old’ or ‘haggard’ about her. She makes all the painted-up, eye-candy females look like bimbos.
I don’t watch Fox routinely anymore, but this is a huge loss for them. And I won’t watch CBS - unless this proves to be the start of a return to real, impartial journalism on their part.
Having thought on the matter, she may just be tired. She is going to take the CBS money and in effect retire on the job

I hadn’t heard about that. I would dearly love to see a rival for Fox, as Fox continues it’s slide into obscurity. Fox is following the Me-again Kelley plan. Fox will never be accepted by the left, even if they try to out left the left. Conservatives will turn their backs on Fox, many already have. That leaves a very lonely existence with their hundreds of viewers.
I never could stand her robotic, emotionless, staccato, machine-gun delivery, during which, after a few minutes of grating my nerves and straining my ears, she loses me completely.
By contrast, John Roberts does a great job as Fox's White House Correspondent. His delivery is easy, personable, warm and understandable, yet very professional and serious at the same time.
I wish Catherine well in her new gig at CBS.

Tune into Lou Dobbs at night. Hannity too repititious.
Listen to Rush , More for his take on topics , as I’ve read most of his “ stack of articles “ here on FR and do think he or his staff reads our threads as his commentary seems to follow/ amplify our direction
