The Washington Post apparently changed the headline of their obituary of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi from "terrorist-in-chief" to describe him as an austere religious scholar.
U.S. forces killed Baghdadi Saturday after a successful raid on a compound in northern Syria.
While many celebrated the death of the serial rapist and murderer, the Washington Post left many confused by giving him the title of austere religious scholar at the helm of the Islamic State.

I’m not a big Bezos fan, but unless you’re quite wealthy, Prime is a must. No delivery charges on anything with $10.95 monthly membership. You save a fortune.
If I was paying delivery charges on some of the stuff I order for my business, I’d be going broke real quick.
LOL Perfect!!!!!!
They come in threes, lets hope for RBG next!
PING
Did John McCain Meet with Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the Alleged Head of the Islamic State (ISIS, ISIL, Daesh)?
Check out # 86, w link, photos.
Thanks, Brown Deer.
Austere Religious Scholar?”
He was a one topic wonder. Official education records from Samarra High School revealed that al-Baghdadi had to retake his high school certificate in 1991 and scored 481 out of 600 possible points. A few months later, he was deemed unfit for military service by the Iraqi military due to his nearsightedness. His high-school grades were not good enough for him to study his preferred subject (law, educational science and languages) at the University of Baghdad. Instead, it is believed that he attended the Islamic University of Baghdad, now known as Iraqi University, where he studied Islamic law and, later, the Quran.
In 2014, American and Iraqi intelligence analysts said that al-Baghdadi has a doctorate for Islamic studies in Quranic studies from Saddam University in Baghdad. According to a biography that circulated on extremist internet forums in July 2013, he obtained a BA, MA, and PhD in Islamic studies from the Islamic University of Baghdad. I think the WaPo should reconsider their choice of describing him a a scholar as he lacks anything beyond the study of Islam and the Quran. And there are many problems with higher education in Iraq so the quality may even be in question.

They seem to have changed the headline again. When I click on the story now I get “extremist leader of ISIS dead at 48.”
Perfect. I stealz it :O
A one-trick pony who died like a dog.
The prison pictures were taken in 2004. The McCain pictures were taken in 2013 (nine years later), and the supposed al-Baghdadi in the McCain photo is younger-looking than the man in the prison pictures. Most of us look older as we get older. Looking younger almost a decade later is a neat trick.
The more recent pictures of Baghdadi show a man substantially older than the 2013 photo. He couldn't have aged so much in 6 years. The recent photos are more consistent with the Baghdadi in the 2004 photo.
The 2013 photos aren't as clear as the others, but I certainly see a different person - not al-Baghdadi - in them. For one thing, the nose is very different.
wow
I buy in bulk and hardly ever pay shipping. Zoro is a great place. I bought oil, air, hydraulic and fuel filters for all my equipment and vehicles and saved 20% with their October sale and no shipping.
Now, there’s a candid obit! Good job. LOL.
Didn’t McCain have a meeting this guy? I hear Bhagdadi was on the board of Burisma Holdings (/sarc), just like Romney’s top military advisor. /true.
Apparently he was captured again, according to some people, and then Obama released him, but I’m not at all sure of that. It is true that Bush released him the first time. I’m waiting to talk to my know-it-all friends about this.
So good.
