Some conservatives assume that they, having more arms and more training and practice in using them, would quickly prevail over the soy-boy Left.
Proficiency with firearms will be no match for nuclear bombs, which Democrat Eric Swalwell has already suggested deploying domestically.
The Democrats are busy even now destroying the institutions of government, the institutions for the peaceful adjustment of differing interests. They are doing this through the Mueller witch hunt, bureaucratic and judicial sedition, and the illegitimate impeachment inquiry, and they are fomenting violence through their Antifa organization and their rhetoric.

Sometimes , most times, the people have no choice.
A civil war is the worst thing that can happen to a nation. There are no winners and the patrimony of its forebears is squandered and destroyed in the process.
The next CW will be left versus right. The left hates guns. So...
Right now, methinks it is a most likely outcome.
Having taken classes on the Spanish and English civil wars and teaching Russian civil war our revolution was closer to a civil war than our civil war. It will NOT be the case this time if it happens.
The first thing that will happen is the Internet will go down and all commerce will cease, meaning all food will stop arriving in the population centers.
After that it’s mass starvation in a matter of weeks.
Americans have sanitized and commercialized our Civil War so much over the past 160 years, that I think many people think it is exactly the same as the reenactments, and are just tiny little skirmishes that end in everyone driving home at the end of the day after a good time.
A little too much like the tourists that went to view Bull Run as it was happening only to find out how south (pun?) it could all go.

Commies hate the military too, until it’s under their control.
Then they LOVE it.
(Never ever fully trust MIL, exactly for those types of reasons.)
The left loves guns if they control who uses them: SJW armed forces and antifa.
It doesn’t take a lot of effort to learn to use one, and the right would initially produce an unorganized mess of over-confident green “soldiers” with no objective, supply chain, stable political support or coordination.
It would be an awful mess for at least 2 years, and then by the time that chaos is sorted out, the left would have caught up in many ways.
Then it will really be a shi* show.

Actually, despite the fact that conservatives have more guns and more proficiency using them, they are law-abiding, family-oriented people. They will not shoot anyone for fear of prison and the resulting impoverished families. The left cares nothing about any of this. To quote Rhett Butler, they’d lick us in a week.

Plenty of liberals own guns. The military is also a jobs program now for inner city utes who are liberal.
One side won’t stop its crap, and the other side is running out of options.
