The Democrats are busy even now destroying the institutions of government, the institutions for the peaceful adjustment of differing interests. They are doing this through the Mueller witch hunt, bureaucratic and judicial sedition, and the illegitimate impeachment inquiry, and they are fomenting violence through their Antifa organization and their rhetoric.

Progressives would love to have a country where they can turn "PC" beliefs - into PC LAWS. Today if certain words are used - or not used - a person can lose their job or be shunned by 'polite society'... That's all. In PUS (Progressive United States) if a citizen says, "I believe in two genders and only two"... they can be arrested and sentenced to death. Or their families sentenced with them... some hellholes have been known to go that far...why not PUS?
In our country (CUS Conservative United States) we won't have 'speech rules' or 'thought crimes' or anything like that... it'll be 'first amendment' all the way - for everyone...
Now tell me, wouldn't progressives love to live in a country where they can control the speech of citizens?
Why fight when everyone can get their way? Duel citizenship will be the norm for 'mixed families' (conservative and liberal unions) for the first 20 years... But CITIZENS of each country will only have the right to vote in their own country's elections.

Progressives can have one long country-wide 'gun free zone'. Only criminals and government will have guns in their country. Now wouldn't that make them happy? They can disarm ALL their citizens and outlaw the NRA FOREVER... Citizens aren't allowed to own guns in North Korea or Cuba... why should they be able to own them in PUS (Progressive United States)

The sort of civil war I'm envisioning here doesn't necessarily involve armed units blazing away at one another, it's more like Bosnia or Beirut where the war comes to you one or two psychos at a time and Lord knows there's plenty of those. Collective defense may mean nothing more than a watch on the block and some sort of alarm system - better arranged before events take you but even if you have to do it ad hoc it's better at least to have a plan. Could you barricade a couple of streets with vehicles so that you can control access to your neighborhood? If you have to do that you don't want to have to figure it out on the fly.
Know your neighbors and at least guess at who has critical knowledge and skills. A guy with a welding torch is a good guy to know, and so is a retired nurse or a carpenter with a garage full of tools. I'm talking about neighborhood defense because for most people that's their best alternative given that some of these scenarios last for months or even years, and nobody sane wants to be a refugee under those circumstances. You have to live somewhere.
None of this has anything to do with forming a guerrilla army or close order drill. It's just how real people have responded to real circumstances and live to tell about it. All my $0.02 and I'd be very grateful for correction.

I remember when people said that in the 1850's. There were even reasonable proposals to buy all the slaves so as to free them. It would have been wayyyy cheaper! Wonder why they didn't do that?

My Dad told me about some of the awful results of those battles when taking me with him to the battlefields, such as the men screaming their heads off while their wounded limbs were being amputated by saws sans anesthetic. Then the limbs were tossed out the windows onto the ground below. Dad actually took me into one of the houses — a tourism site at Manassas Battlefield — where these gruesome surgeries were performed.

In a general insurrection, secession and or sectional strife and full mobilization of militias, state armies etc. they ( the standing army )would be dwarfed.
They can have New England and New York. We have all the rest. Build that wall high with lots of mini-guns so any progressive will be mowed down on sight if they are within 50 yards of the wall.
Canada and Mexico will be a problem but we can work something out.
How will the U.S. keep going the way it is? The spiral is happening. How will my sons ever be seen as normal because they are white, male and Christian? The way it is going now they will be treated as criminals unless there is some change that happens. Without a cleansing of some sort how will there ever be peace?

In 3 days, most grocery stores and pharmacies will be looted, empty and no resupply available. That’s already happened in the mid west during a blizzard about 10 years ago.
