A second American civil war is nothing to look forward to

Similarly, today, it is surprising to hear with what composure, and how glibly, members of the public, and even politicians, talk of a second American civil war. Some conservatives assume that they, having more arms and more training and practice in using them, would quickly prevail over the soy-boy Left.

Proficiency with firearms will be no match for nuclear bombs, which Democrat Eric Swalwell has already suggested deploying domestically.

The Democrats are busy even now destroying the institutions of government, the institutions for the peaceful adjustment of differing interests. They are doing this through the Mueller witch hunt, bureaucratic and judicial sedition, and the illegitimate impeachment inquiry, and they are fomenting violence through their Antifa organization and their rhetoric.

The Left needs an enema. A little bitch slap might do the trick.

Yup, great post. I’m not convinced widespread civil unrest is even possible while the poorest people are the most likely to be obese and are the most entertained poor people ever. Also, the poorest are generally unused to hard physical labor outdoors in all weather.

Also, I think we would probably see a huge bump in eligible voter turnout before anything happens. The last few elections were like 55-60+% or so. The people that care about politics/culture from both sides usually vastly over estimate the number of people that care as much as they do about, at least enough to deign to vote about it.

I think a lot of this civil war talk is social media/24 hour news cycle driven.

Another possibility of a triggering event would be a Elizabeth Warren administration banning fracking and the use of pesticides and herbicides on farms and ranches. Then elimination of feedlots and large indoor facilities for chicken and hog production. Imposition of logging restrictions on private lands that would kill the lumber production in the Southeast. Bans on coal production and burning more severe than Obama did. Essentially these actions would destroy the economy of rural America like the Highland Clearances did for Scotland. All of these ideas have been proposed by environmentalists. With massive defiance from rural areas, and states in the South and Mid America refusing to cooperate with Federal authorities, the leftists would be compelled to use the military, including a Federalized National Guard, to enforce these laws. Think the Bundy Ranch situation on an exponential basis.

Even the most casual voter knows that gun confiscation and tanking the economy are the top priorities for a Dem administration.

A minor correction. The left does NOT hate guns. In fact, the left loves guns. They just dont want YOU to have one.

>>Next CW will be left versus right. The left hates guns.<<

Don't kid yourself. Ever heard of the leftist Sandanistas, Contras, FARC, Kamir Rouge.

There is a list of leftist groups as long as your leg in many nations....and they are brutal. They didn't use sling shots and blow guns.

The war is the easy part. The aftermath and rebuilding and retribution against the losers is the hard part.

It is always a mistake to let your enemies live as your enemies. One way or another, if you don’t rectify the situation, you’ll be attacked and lose.

Japan was a great example. They didn’t leave WWII our enemy. Things are good today. Not great, but good. They are not a risk to us.

When the peace becomes unbearable then war is the only option to suicide.

The first thing that will happen is the Internet will go down and all commerce will cease, meaning all food will stop arriving in the population centers.

You don't really believe that do you?

Look at Communist China, and its social numbering system. We are starting to do the same thing with private agencies.

I agree with you. I'll go the extra step of believing we already exist in social stability rating databases. Regardless of the source data, our names exist somewhere associated with a score based on any number of triggering factors.

Did you take school evaluation tests as a child? Ever look at your post history here on free republic? Phone calls and emails are monitored by the NSA. Ever say or write key words that reveal your political leanings or belief that government is becoming too powerful? Internet search and media entertainment histories are kept by ISPs and credit card companies. Are you a frequent renter of movies like "V for Vendetta", reader of books on liberty / freedom, searched terms like prepper? Have you ever been in a school or organizational leadership role, played organized sports, been in the military?

I promise you, information like this is in a database somewhere. Combine modern psychological profiling, powerful computing, and extensive personal data collection, and every person can be fairly accurately categorized or scored. I'm fairly confident that we are not behind, but ahead of China in this endeavor.

Best way to get rid of a bully is to punch the little kid in the nose. The left is asking for a nose bleed bad!

No one’s considering which side the military is going to fight for.

That is not important. The standing army, the part not already deployed, is tiny compared to the population of the USA. The Army would be lucky to be able to secure DC and the surrounding areas.

The Army is ant compared to an elephant. Hell, Texas could raise an Army bigger than the US Army in a fortnight.

I don’t believe Russia would support the left. I do believe we should ask them to support us.

Russia has a flat tax, is pro-Christian and anti-Muslim, supports gun ownership, and is anti-globalist. They would keep China at bay.

If for some reason they stay, I’d rather be under Russia than these whackjob commies here.

> including a Federalized National Guard <

It’s kind of a side point, but we need a constitutional amendment that gives governors more control over their National Guard forces. As it is now, the governors control their Guard only until the president decides otherwise.

Perhaps a majority of the governors must agree before the president can federalize the Guard.
