The tariffs now in place STAY IN PLACE and what was “lifted” was the ADDITIONAL 5% which was to go into effect in November plus the tariffs on additional (mostly consumer) goods scheduled to take effect also in November.

The 25% already in place remains until all aspects of the agreement are carried out by China.

People in the rust belt believed Trump and his pro American tariff policies he ran on. He has not come through. Blue collar voters PAY ATTENTION.

The goal is improved trade, not tariffs. Do you not understand the importance of the soybean deal? China caved, ya idjit.

Funny, so far I do not see your claim actually being reported anywhere.

If he has tariffs in place at the 25% level, he should get credit for it.

That’s 100% higher tariffs than we used to have.

Just because he paused in raising them further, that’s nothing to trash him for.

Michigan should be reminded of the 25%, and be very thankful for that.

Did you also hear him say that tariffs scheduled for December may still happen, or did you just leave that out? I heard the trade guy say that.

We have lots of tariffs on now. If new ones are held off thats the point of the tariffs. Tariffs are chips. We can trade them for things we want. Or we can add new ones.

Yeah, Cavuto has been wrong on numerous occasions, and he is a Never-Trump a-hole on top of it.

The political bias that favors big ag over manufacturing is painfully obvious. Trump ran to break that paradigm and he just fumbled. He is a BS artist. I get it. I love the guy but he is totally unreliable.

Job #1 is re-election in 2020. If Trump is defeated, the tariffs are off. So he needs (1) low gas prices and (2) a strong economy. The China thing is damaging the Chinese economy to a significant extent, but it is also damaging the US economy, to a lesser extent. In combo with a moribund European economy, this is what has led to the manufacturing purchasing managers’ index to signal a contraction:

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/10/01/us-manufacturing-economy-contracts-to-worst-level-in-a-decade.html
- The ISM U.S. manufacturing purchasing managers’ index came in at 47.8% in September, the lowest since June 2009.
- This marks the second consecutive month of contraction.
- The new export orders index tanked to only 41%, the lowest level since March 2009.

I’d consider this a tactical freeze until after Election Day in 2020.

Settle down...I never said I was a free “traitor”, hopefully that was a mistake and not a literal description of my views...My belief is there is not such thing as Free Trade, so long as tariffs exist, it’s negotiated trade...Obama, Bush, Clinton, Bush, etc....have sold us out to China.....

I was simply posting what Trump was saying....

I pay no attention to some on here. They seem to know everything about everything yet know nothing about all of it.

Tariffs made the USA great and the lack of them is destroying the USA’s future. If you don’t think so then you are a Free Traitor™ in every sense of the word.

Well, well...... you and yours have been betrayed.

Of course, there was really no betrayal because all along you misunderstood what was happeinng

The business of America is business. Trade makes the world go round.

Foolish tariffs stop the spinning

Cancelling the tariff increase is how you lose MI, IN, OH etc. etc. etc. Trump is now in trouble. He is caving into big ag and then Chinks JUST LIKE EVERY REPUBLICAN POS before him.

The Dems are going to make hay out of this big time.
