I avoid watching CNN like the plague. But I do watch MS-NBC once in a while when in the mood for a bit of masochism. I don't watch CNN either. The newsworthy event that happened involved a CNN anchor, but it happened in a bar and not on CNN. It was reported by basically most news organizations, including being discussed here extensively.
So not watching CNN doesn't actually explain it. Not paying any attention to any news including FR would be closer.
