Remain MPs, dubbed the Rabble Alliance, are now left with just four days next week to try to derail Brexit and pass a law to stop a No Deal on October 31.
Senior sources told The Sun that No10s extraordinary move was designed to prove to Brussels that Parliament will not be able to stop Britain from leaving in October.
They wanted to flush out any opposition now in the hope of forcing EU leaders into concessions on the Irish backstop.
One insider said: The EU will never negotiate with us and consider changes to the backstop if they believe Parliament can block a No Deal.
As well as having the advantage of sending Remainers into meltdown and putting them on the back foot, this is about showing the EU that they have to come to the table.
They said: It will expose Remain MPs real agenda and stop them mucking around in the run-up to the EU Council in October. SHOCK MOVE
Others said Tory MPs minded to side with Jeremy Corbyn to stop a No Deal realised they would throw away their career as they would be unlikely to be re-selected to stand in an upcoming election.
*snip*
Sources claimed Health Secretary Matt Hancock who slammed the idea of prorogation in the Tory leadership campaign remained silent throughout the call.
Northern Ireland Secretary Julian Smith, Theresa Mays ex-chief whip, demanded to see legal advice.
Jubilant Tory Eurosceptics lauded the PMs move saying it struck a marked contrast with Mrs Mays surrender to Remainers when she extended the original March 29 Brexit deadline earlier this year.
Former party leader Iain Duncan Smith said: No10 has finally put electrodes on the Remainers and made them re-moan. They can dish it out but they cant take it.

Sounds like “England First” to me.
Prorogation explainer: a simple guide to what just happened in UK politicsExcerpt:
Can the proroguing be reversed?
Good question. Proroguing parliament is not voted on by MPs so cannot be stopped in this way. The Conservative MP (and former attorney general) Dominic Grieve said he and others were working on a plan to organise a humble address, which is a direct call from the Commons to the Queen.
I dont think parliament can stop prorogation, although there may be something that parliament can do to register its deep concern, he said.
A humble address is binding and can be used by the opposition to express its strength of feeling to the government or request that it hand over documents. It has rarely been deployed in the past 200 years but Labour successfully used it in 2017 to make a direct appeal to the Queen that the government make public its economic impact assessments of Brexit.
In the meantime a public petition against parliaments suspension had gathered more than a million signatures by Wednesday night. It is the fastest-growing parliamentary petition since more than 6 million people signed a statement calling for article 50 the mechanism for leaving the EU to be revoked earlier this year. What happens now?
Rebel MPs from across the political spectrum are gearing up for a historic clash when parliament resumes on 3 September. On Wednesday, Corbyn backed cross-party plans to hold off on a vote of no confidence in order to prioritise attempts to use legislation to stop a no-deal Brexit. But by drastically reducing the parliamentary time available, prorogation has made a no-confidence vote more likely, possibly leading to a general election in October.

It’s almost like their own American Revolution but without the violence. In the meantime England has imported quite a few Mozlems and there is no group in the world more toxic to freedom and civilization. It’s going to be an interesting ride.
Nobody get cocky.
The empire hadn’t struck back yet.
Without the violence, I wonder how long it will last without the ultimate self sacrifice. A political commitment is very different than a principled one, that requires de personal sacrifices.
Like here, if they have to choose between freedom and a monthly check with free healthcare, will it stick?
Here on FR, there is support for red flag rules.
Is the desire for freedom more powerful than self sacrifice against a government that clearly oppresses its citizens? Not even here.
I highly doubt they will be able to keep this up... but it will be interesting to see how it plays out.
Hes been studying PDJT. Well done, Boris!
The majority of Parliament has rejected every offer, including a no-deal Brexit.
Parliament is the obstacle.
But we know the majority of Parliament is working with the EU to derail Brexit and force the UK into submission and remain.
Therefore, a no Parliament, no deal Brexit is the best option.
Orange Man good!
I think it is a very exciting development.
The beauty of this move is that Boris doesnt have to affirmatively do anything. He doesnt have to get a single piece of legislation passed. He just has to prevent anything being passed in the next few days that would tie his hands. Then he can sit back and allow the deadline to expire and the U.K. will simply drift out of the EU.
A toe in the water of freedom and a finger in the eye of globalism. But only if it lasts a couple hundred years. Will they survive the medias white colonialism label? Do they have the stomach for natural economic corrections? Heck, what am I saying? There is nothing natural and capitalistic about our Fed.. let alone worldwide economic systems.
Is Germany next? Merle is out and suddenly Germany has gone politically mute. That unnerves me a bit, as the worlds most deadly dictators all appeared in one generation.
If I understand this correctly, the people voted on Brexit and yet the opposition to Brexit is going against the will of the people?
I'm sure she thought....What would my father do?
I remember when her father died. So handsome. I was in 3rd grade. Remember her coronation because much was written about the weight of the Crown.
I will never trust Germany. What the Germans wrought was intensely evil and twisted. I doubt its reformation.
I think BJ got a whiff of DJT.
They met recently and it wouldn’t surprise me if 45 gave No10 the idea to shove it to the Re-Moans.
Parliament very unwisely created a Supreme Court for the first time in British history in 2009, eliminating its own role as Court of Last Resort.
The Remoaners will be lined up around the block today to sue to stop the Queen from proroguing Parliament, and I bet they will win a judgement.
Thank God Elizabeth is still the reigning monarch. If that simpering, lefty Jug Ears was king, he would have done anything to thwart Brexit.
