Missouri police say a man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly showed up to a local Walmart with a loaded rifle and a bulletproof vest.
Police in Springfield, Mo., said nobody was harmed and no shots were fired. The suspect, a white man in his 20s, was detained by an off-duty firefighter until officers arrived on the scene, authorities said.
The man allegedly showed up with a “tactical rifle” and bulletproof vest, the Springfield News-Leader reported.
Springfield Police Lt. Mike Lucas told the outlet that the man, wearing body armor and military-style clothing, was taking videos on his phone and making comments to people while pushing a shopping cart.
Lucas said the suspect then left the store, where the off-duty firefighter held him at gunpoint until police arrived shortly after.
“His intent obviously was to cause chaos here, and he did that,” he said.
Lucas said the suspect had more than 100 rounds of ammo, adding that police are still working to determine his motives, including whether he intended to shoot anyone.
“His intent was not to cause peace or comfort to anybody that was in the business here,” Lucas said. “In fact, he’s lucky he’s alive still, to be honest.”
The incident follows Saturday’s mass shooting at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas, that killed 22 people and injured dozens others.
A separate shooting in Dayton, Ohio, one day later killed nine people and left others wounded.

Since Missouri is a “Constitutional Carry” state, I don’t see where the guy actually broke any laws.
However the firefighter may be guilty of unlawful detainer.
Or the stupid guy could be another leftist rabble rouser just trying to get people upset, knowing that he will get off due to not breaking any law.
Maybe Soros already gave him bail money and a lawyer.

You don’t walk around a Wal Mart with 100 rounds and a bulletproof vest right after the horrible shootings in El Paso and Dayton. NOT IF YOU ARE SANE.
This asshole deserves at least a year plus 10 days in jail which would make him a convicted felon and not allowed to have any weapons.
He also needs a good sanity hearing.

Nearly 100% of the posters to this article are responding as totalitarians, completely oblivious to the fact that the man with the gun was acting in a manner consistent with the law. We may not like a law that lets Negroes sit at the white lunch counter but it is the law. We may not like the law which permits Muslims to pray in public but it is the law. All of you who are shouting idiot and calling for this fellow to be jailed need to back up and recognize that what he did might well have been in poor taste but was fully legal. The firefighter seems to have committed assault with a deadly weapon among other crimes.
This jackass may be a so-called 1st and 2nd amendment auditor.
