Nearly 100% of the posters to this article are responding as totalitarians, completely oblivious to the fact that the man with the gun was acting in a manner consistent with the law. We may not like a law that lets Negroes sit at the white lunch counter but it is the law. We may not like the law which permits Muslims to pray in public but it is the law. All of you who are shouting idiot and calling for this fellow to be jailed need to back up and recognize that what he did might well have been in poor taste but was fully legal. The firefighter seems to have committed assault with a deadly weapon among other crimes.
Gun owners in this nation who are responsible and are trying to maintain that they are in the whole responsible and situationally aware won’t be showing up in a black T shirt and cargo shorts wearing body armor with their rifle openly displayed in a public situation just after 2 mass shootings have occurred. This young man was deliberately gaslighting and was lucky he wasn’t shot! There are laws against deliberately provoking fear by means of guns, despite one’s nominal position of being “legal” and “within his rights”. I hope the judge reams him a good one and on the possibility that the young man was completely unaware of current events, I hope the judge tells the young man to get his head out of his ass and pay attention to the news and current events!
There also is no law against being “obtuse” which is what your posting is a prime example of.
