Liberals and Democrats can enjoy that loose way of parleying; conservatives and Republicans can’t. We have an imbalance of laughter, which the left has created as part of its longstanding culture war tactics. What the right thinks is comical the left labels offensive, the left makes fun of its adversaries at will.

I was thinking about this this morning. Republicans are like parents...rules and saying no all the time. Democrats are like that single uncle whose fun and has money and says yes to anything the kids want.

The difference between humor and denigration has escaped the box. Liberals denigrate for laughs. The fact that liberal tv shows have laugh tracks, electronic laugh signs and laugh cards says it all. Audiences are conditioned at birth to laugh on command like trained seals.

Yes. Last time I was at a comedy club, a typical joke from the stage was: “Republicans are stupid”. It got a big laugh.

The author is clearly oblivious to the crushing victory of right-side humor on the grassroots level.
“The Left can’t meme” summarizes the situation very well. ALL the humor from the next generation is right-side; those trapped inside lefty politics have no sense of humor at all.

Actually I think it’s changing. . .the Left is losing humor because of all the political correct taboos. A show like “East Bound and Down” of just a few years ago couldn’t be made today. Comedians can hardly appear anymore on college campuses. . The new young generation of conservatives are seizing comedy and satire and are using it quite effectively. Kudos to Rush Limbaugh: a pioneer from years ago in using comedy and satire to ridicule the Left.
And yet it is the Democrats who are always trying to tell people what they are allowed to eat, where they are allowed to go, and who their friends MUST be.

Well, if you’d actually read the article (!) you would realize the author was making a point about A) the fact that the GOP-e types are cowed by the left’s humorless attack humor, & B) that’s one reason why people flocked to Trump & why he continues to be successful. He doesn’t let the leftists get away with anything. He mocks them right back.
And yes, the author does discuss the new comedians on the right that people are beginning to follow. The only problem there is that the social media lefties are blocking & de-platforming them as fast as they can. Humor engages people & the fact that the left has been able to silence the right with PC nonsense has been a big problem for us.
