I don't think it is a coincidence that just as President Trump is in the U.K., we suddenly learn that "dossier" author Christopher Steele has agreed to be questioned by U.S. authorities. Chuck Ross of The Daily Caller reports:
Former British spy Christopher Steele has agreed to meet in London with U.S. officials regarding the dossier, The Times of London is reporting.
A source close to Steele told the newspaper he plans to meet with American authorities within the next several weeks, but only about his interactions with the FBI and only with the approval of the British government.
Steele's decision is an apparent about-face from his reported refusal to meet with U.S. investigators regarding his infamous report.
Reuters reported in May that Steele was unwilling to meet with a federal prosecutor who Attorney General William Barr tapped to lead an investigation into the origins of the Russia probe. And Politico reported on April 17 that Steele was refusing to meet with the Justice Department's office of the inspector general, which is looking into the FBI's use of the dossier to obtain surveillance warrants against Carter Page, a Trump campaign adviser.
I have all along believed that part of President Trump's mission in the U.K. was winning over British support for fully outing the role of its intelligence services in the Russia Hoax. He would have to guarantee that the overall relationship will remain sound even if highly embarrassing facts come to light. While speaking with outgoing P.M. May was necessary, she will soon be replaced. I do not discount the importance of his 90-minute private conversation with Queen Elizabeth

I think the bigger story here was that Theresa May announced her resignation as Prime Minister almost immediately after the news of President Trump’s letter to AG William Barr — authorizing Barr to declassify any information he needed to investigate the origins of the FBI/CIA surveillance on the Trump campaign — hit the news.
This has real potential for good. We will see if Steele lives through the week.
Yuuuge!
All these articles about alarming developments in any of these investigations are pseudo-journalism for, “You won’t believe what happened next!” Because he agreed to be questioned doesn’t mean a thing. He could simply be trying to cover his tracks.
If they cannot put him under oath, what pressure is there for him not to lie or make things up?
I heard he really, really, really, really hates Trump. Wouldn’t he “take one” for his beliefs?
As much as he may dislike Trump, since he’s MI6, he may have more loyalty to the crown than Hillary.
DJT took his magic bag of Trump Cards to England and gave them as gifts.
It’s speculation and I suspect fake news. steel has already testified in court and I doubt we will learn any more from him then was already reviled in court.
Hillary’s team is working feverishly, 24/7, to try to figure out how to suicide someone in another country....
I’m unconvinced.
Horowitz or Durham?
I’ve heard both.
Makes a difference
True. And, with Hillary, the only crown she has loyalty to is the tiara she feels entitled to wear, as our Queen. I wonder if Bill Clinton got anything out of the last episode of Game of Thrones?
I’m thinking they offered Steele a deal. They convinced him he would be prosecuted either under US or UK statutes, and like most rats, he’ll turn on his former “friends” in a heartbeat to save his own a$$.
He could simply be trying to cover his tracks.
You could very well be correct, but I don’t think so.
I do believe that AG Barr already knows the answers to the question to be put to Steele.
If we are speculating, is its not possible that back channel talks were made to the Queen representatives about what we know of her government’s involvement in the coup d’tat of an American government. In exchange for keeping the British Government out of the line of fire Steele would have to become a witness for the prosecution.
There is so much we don’t know. So far only one side is talking and they are spinning everything even when it contradicts what they said earlier.
They say the wheels of justice moves slow so I guess it will be awhile before we know if those responsible are brought to justice.
Sionce Steele could not even recall particulars of ‘his dossier’, it is likely that he is not the author of same. Watch for the name Sid Blumenthal to surface soon, IMHO.
According to Joe diGenova, Steele will be talking to Dunham.
Maybe Queen Elizabeth asked MI5 to have some speaks with Mr. Steele?
The people who talk about obstruction of justice in Robert Mueller's investigation appear unaware that in the United States the prosecution can be guilty of obstruction of justice. Most people don't understand that the Bill of Rights provisions regulating law enforcement were added to the Constitution to prevent corrupt law enforcement agencies from misusing the criminal justice system to harass political activists. One of the worst abuses in British legal history was the "Star Chamber" proceeding which allowed the use of secret unsubstantiated allegations against the accused, especially political activists.
The involvement of British intelligence agent Christopher Steele in the investigation in effect makes it a form of Star Chamber proceeding. I know he says he's retired, but think about it. Obviously, if he's on a "secret mission" for the British government, he's not going to say "I'm on a secret mission to discredit Donald Trump." He's going to say "I'm retired." I have enough respect for Britain's MI6 to believe that it can arrange for agents on secret assignments to appear to have "jobs" that have no connection to the British government.
American courts need to know how information is obtained, Agents like Steele need to keep some information and sources of information secret. Courts need to know the truth. Agents must be able to lie convincingly such as when the British overstated the status of Iraq's Weapons of Mass Destruction. Regardless of whether or not Steele prepared the Trump dossier on assignment for his government, the dossier appears to be the type of propaganda piece an agent might prepare for his government. It's not important whether Steele's document caused the Mueller investigation or merely encouraged it. What is important is that allowing a foreign agent to encourage a criminal investigation of an American politician allows other countries to meddle in our politics by providing evidence to destroy politicians they don't like.
Consider a hypothetical situation that could have occurred before the 2016 election. A country wishing to hurt Hillary Clinton might have secretly provided incriminating emails to Wikileaks. Any country that has Hillary emails won't want our government to know it has emails with information about American procedures, personnel and goals so emails would have to be distributed secretly.
What if such emails indicated Hillary had worked out a deal with Britain to have Americans stay in Benghazi to protect equipment the British left behind when a terrorist attack caused them to evacuate the area in exchange for something like a contribution to the Clinton Foundation or unspecified help if Hillary ran for president? The emails could not have been used to start a criminal investigation because government could not have verified that the documents were authentic unaltered emails which had been obtained in accordance with American laws.......if Russia had been really anxious to elect Trump wouldn't it have tried to secretly distribute real or fake Clinton emails?

Self-serving cronies Mueller and Comey pulling the same tricks:
<><> abusing their govt positions
<><> undermining our institutions
<><> in it for their own vanity and partisan wishes
<><> saving (Hillary); tarnishing (Trump)
<><> pumping themselves as straight-shooting paragons of virtue.
In sum:
Deep State Clinton investigation: We have conclusive evidence of wrongdoing, but we dont believe she intended to."
Deep State Trump investigation: We cant find any conclusive evidence of wrongdoing, but were certain he intended to.
