The escalating trade war between the U.S. and China has led both sides to raise tariffs, but the lopsided trade relationship between the two countries means the impact will fall heaviest on Chinese producers and American consumers and farmers.
The U.S. imported a record $539.5 billion in goods from China in 2018. The U.S. is a net importer from China in most market segments such as consumer electronics, apparel, furniture and industrial supplies. The one major exception: agriculture.
By contrast, the U.S. shipped a much smaller $120.3 billion in goods to China last year, Census trade figures showed.

People, JUST STOP buying products made in China.
Just stop.
Buy American. Just do it.
Exactly..just buy American!!! I heard some bicycle shop owner in Brooklyn bitch about how he will have to raise prices of his bikes since they are shipped to China to produce..well here’s an idea, how about pay American workers to BUILD THOSE BIKES, hey how’s that nifty idea
It’s the cheap, crap bikes that are made in China.
Buy Trek.
Or Italian.
I've been waiting decades to hear these words!
“Buy Trek.
Or Italian’
Had a Peugeot when I was in college, best bike I ever owned.
HOORAY President Donald J. Trump!
DEFUND/DISMANTLE/DESTROY (when necessary) socialist/totalitarian collectives, foreign and domestic.
live - free - republic
I have always tried to avoid buying Chinese crap.
What else comes from China, besides crappy products that break 1-2 weeks after you buy them?
Poisoned dogfood; fentanyl, carfentanyl, and all other opiods; date-rape drugs; the SARS virus; spying students and industrial spies; and lots more negative garbage
One thing is clear - China is not anybody’s friend
“Its the cheap, crap bikes that are made in China.
Buy Trek.
Or Italian”
But not all all Italian bikes are made in Italy. Lots of plastic, err I mean, Carbon bikes are made in China and rebadged. The same is true of some American brands.

Almost everything we buy is made in China. Although now it is starting to diversify to places like Vietnam because as China has gotten wealthier, its workers have to be paid more. But China could pretty much buy the U.S. at this point.
I dont see fentanyl on the list. That export probably has more effect on America than anything else the Chicoms send us.
I’ve seen quality Chinese goods, they do exist. But they got the U.S. acculturated to buying cheap, throwaway crap, and now the U.S. is hooked on that.
Would love to buy American - except some of the products I need aren’t made in America or the American versions are garbage. Am I supposed to kill my business because there is no American counterpart product or support American companies that can’t be bothered to turn out a product that lasts more than 10 minutes?
Made In America isn’t always better.
It is currently impossible to buy or assemble a computer system 100% made in USA. Please dispose of your computer right away.
(This would change if Congress would change various laws.)
I try not to buy Chinese goods but a lot of times there is nothing to replace the item you need at the time. At least we can put off buying Chinese made goods until Pres. Trump wins.
Go Trump.
Schwin bikes were ounce made exclusively in Chicago
Once upon a time
Channeling Sam Walton - We need you back in spirit. Since you left your company (Wal-Mart) went to cr@p.
Rare earth mining in many cases will take an Act of Congress. Nothing less will do it - and there is nothing Trump can do about it.
