What is happening in the UK is terrifying. No, I’m not talking about Brexit, the event that has gripped news media and turned it into a frenzy. I’m referring to far more important matters. Matters that, if left unchecked, will turn the UK into one of the most authoritarian countries in the world.
Just one example of this authoritarian trend; soon everyone in the UK will require age verification or the purchase of a special pass from a local retailer or newsagent in order to view pornography online. I say soon since the British government have in the past been completely opaque in revealing exactly when the plan will be enacted. The current date set is July 15th, but this is just another of many given dates for the enactment of the laws, so I would not be surprised if it changed again.
This isn’t the first time that the UK have implemented strangely authoritarian sex-related laws though. Previously, they introduced legislation banning certain sex acts from being performed in the UK in front of a camera. Why? I have no idea. It was not made illegal to view those very same sex acts online. It was only made illegal to record them being done.
You might be wondering why I’m bringing up these issues. Sure, they’re a bit daft, but who cares. You might even be thinking ‘porn is a bad thing for society anyway, so I don’t care.’ I can understand this mentality, but these new laws are simply a symptom of a much larger, technocratic mindset.
Before these pieces of legislation were even suggested, Theresa May floated the idea of implementing controls on the internet....

Except for a few short decades, Britain has never been a free nation. It has labored on under despots, monarchs, and a parliamentary system that had the barest representation of participation.
The huge majority of British soldiers in WWI did not have the right to vote. “The German Empire from 1871 until 1918 (and the North German Confederation before it from 1867) had universal male suffrage, one of the more progressive election franchises at the time”. In the UK, “All adult men were enfranchised by the Representation of the People Act 1918. This Act granted women over 30 the right to vote in national elections (if they possessed property)”
From the mid 20s until after WWII, Brits were mostly free. Soon after WWII they fell into socialism. Now they are back under the boot.

To protect our investments in WWI. When the Fed was created, basically British and US banking merged. We loaned incredible amounts of money (credit) to the UK, and could not let them fold. Also, while screeching about the immoral naval submarine blockaid of England, the Royal Navy let us know in no uncertain terms that they would sink or capture any American (neutral) merchantmen attempting to trade with Germany, on whom THEY had a naval blockaid. Combine this with Brits cutting the transatlantic cable to Europe and forcing all cable communications (news) to go through the British/US cable.
Britain has never been a friend. At best they have found us useful sometimes.
They never had any rights to begin with.

To add to the licence required to watch television. About $300/year. And if you don’t have a television they will come to your door and hound you for payment anyway.
And at the same time, A lot of British people are as fine as you could ever meet. Many are good friends.
But like Germans, their ideas of government are very twisted.
I regard most British people as essentially the same as hostages.

The older I get and more of insanity is perpetuated in Western Europe, the more that I think the same.
Nations have “interests” and “allies”, not “friends”.

There’s a reason we broke with them 240 years ago. Make no mistake however, if the Democratic Party has its way our country will become just as much of a nanny state as the UK.
