NYC Vows to Start ‘Phasing Out’ Hot Dogs to Save the Planet as Part of Their Own $14B Green New Deal

Hot dogs may become harder to find following the approval of New York City’s version of the Green New Deal as local politicians pick of the sword to take on climate change.
On Monday, Mayor Bill de Blasio (D-N.Y.) slapped his signature on his city’s blueprint for combatting climate change. Following in the footsteps of Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), the city passed a Green New Deal to mobilize the city’s resources to combat climate change.
Unfortunately for hot dog lovers, the plan includes a goal of eliminating processed meat from all city-owned property.
According to NYC’s Green New Deal, hot dogs must go if New Yorkers want to maintain a “livable climate.” The plan details the city’s goal of “reducing the purchasing of beef and phasing out the purchasing of processed meat” from all city-owned facilities.
Similar to Ocasio-Cortez’s plan to “fully get rid of farting cows,” New York City aims to reduce the need for cows because of their production of the greenhouse gas methane.

No... just looked up Kayem hot dogs, and found this: "Kayem franks are made with only the finest cuts of meat and contain no by-products, fillers or artificial flavors; however, they are not certified Kosher." Oh well.
Yes, I’m in a gorgeous neighborhood in a small city in AL. Our property taxes are practically non-existent which gave us leave to buy a lovely home with cash. The people are wonderful, we’ve made friends, and it is early summer here and the star jasmine is blooming. We picked AL because nobody thinks of this state when they leave the northeast.
Sounds lovely! I know about the non-existent property taxes in certain areas of the South. That's the #1 reason we need to leave the northeast. Plus the high cost of living overall... heating, etc.
I hope to visit Alabama someday... I know nothing about it, except - like many areas of the the south, including where we're looking - there's an increased risk of hurricanes and tornadoes.
I'm also trying hard to get into the mindset of living with many months of high humidity, something I really hate. I won't miss the long winters here, but *will* miss the beautiful cool days, especially in the fall. Plus I still have lots of relatives living up here... it will be hard to think I'll be nearly 1,000 miles away from them on a permanent basis. Right now they're just an easy drive away.
The all beef Kosher hot dog with a skin is one of the most sublimely delicious sausages ever invented. An NYC has the largest Jewish population in America. Oy, ve, what happened ??? It used to be, “such a deal, you are in Israel.”

It won’t affect Papaya King but it will affect Nathan’s, with its trucks at Columbus Circle and elsewhere.
Why don’t they block the halal carts from the sidewalks? Isn’t lamb meat? Plus it would improve the aesthetics and air quality.
