NYC Vows to Start Phasing Out Hot Dogs to Save the Planet as Part of Their Own $14B Green New Deal
Madison Dibble about 2 hours ago
Hot dogs may become harder to find following the approval of New York Citys version of the Green New Deal as local politicians pick of the sword to take on climate change.
On Monday, Mayor Bill de Blasio (D-N.Y.) slapped his signature on his citys blueprint for combatting climate change. Following in the footsteps of Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), the city passed a Green New Deal to mobilize the citys resources to combat climate change.
Unfortunately for hot dog lovers, the plan includes a goal of eliminating processed meat from all city-owned property.
According to NYCs Green New Deal, hot dogs must go if New Yorkers want to maintain a livable climate. The plan details the citys goal of reducing the purchasing of beef and phasing out the purchasing of processed meat from all city-owned facilities.
Similar to Ocasio-Cortezs plan to fully get rid of farting cows, New York City aims to reduce the need for cows because of their production of the greenhouse gas methane.

“I’ll have a hot dog and a Coke and a plastic straw.”
Police: “You have the right to remain silent....”
Ballpark Franks? I don't think I've ever had one.
Hebrew National dogs are fantastic. We also see a lot of Kayem hot dogs up here in New England. Kayem hot dogs are very good. I admit I don't eat a lot of hot dogs, though. Just once in awhile at a baseball game - if they serve Hebrew National or Kayem.
Did I see you moved to Alabama? Wow if so! Going from NYC/NJ to AL must be quite interesting. :-)
Hubby and I have been looking quite a bit in the South for a few years now... mostly in GA, SC and FL. I've never been to AL. Our house in CT is not ready to sell yet. Not sure when we'll make the move.
“my personal home favorite: Hebrew National”
Wally World sells them nation wide.
City owns the sidewalks and parks.
First it was smoking ...but I didn’t smoke so didn’t care.
Then it was big gulps....but I didn’t drink them so didn’t care.
Next it was Nathans.......
And they reelected DeBlasio!
I have a feeling that the next Rat pResident will finally tip the country to civil war. If they are insane enough with this green sh*t, they will go further and deeper especially with 2A and further attacks on Conservatives and Christians.
Yeah, Ballpark has been around for a long time. I don’t know Kayem - are they Kosher?
Yes, I’m in a gorgeous neighborhood in a small city in AL. Our property taxes are practically non-existent which gave us leave to buy a lovely home with cash. The people are wonderful, we’ve made friends, and it is early summer here and the star jasmine is blooming. We picked AL because nobody thinks of this state when they leave the northeast.
‘Dear Lord these people are insane- and God help this great nation of ours if a democrat ever becomes president again’
if...?
Are we sure this isn’t satire?
Yes, he was, but I wonder which instance you’re referring to here.
I don’t recall mention of frankfurters in ‘That Hideous Strength’, but it’s been a while since I read it...
Didn’t see where it mentioned BBQ, only hot dogs. What did I miss?
