California & NY & IL are not enough to kill the electoral college. Rats need to get Ohio & Florida to do the job.

If we dont hit the streets to protest this, we deserve to lose Ohio. If they get away with it, other states will follow.

Wonder if these people have stopped to think there is no such thing as a “national popular vote.” No one counts or certifies a national popular vote for President.

This could make 2020 the year the shooting begins if the left tries this and it changes the outcome.

The patriots in the flyover counties of Ohio can see the potential catastrophe this would bring. The dems will bang on our doors with this monster until enough imported “voters” pass the bill. It’s as dangerous as a Constitutional Convention, where good intentions (term limits, etc) can inadvertently result in the Bill of Rights being legally abrogated. We’d become New Zealand with a better organized, lethal Antifa (among others) searching for firearms. As our wonderful POTUS brings the pain to the Deep State, I’m hoping and expecting this scenario will die as politicians resign, are exposed or slowly assume room temperature.

If Trump wins the popular vote in 2020, just watch how quickly these states revert back to how the Electoral College is the way to go after all.

Even if the state voters went for the other candidate the state will vote for the one with the popular vote? How is this not against the wishes of the voters?

The constitution is convoluted on this.

This subject is ripe for the Supreme Court.

I think they would find that this idea is “UNCONSTITUTIONAL” as is the current practice of awarding electoral votes in “winner takes all” states.

In both cases “the people” are being disenfranchised of their votes.

COLUMBUS, Ohio—A proposed Ohio constitutional amendment to award the state’s presidential electoral votes to the winner of the national popular vote has cleared an initial hurdle toward making the statewide ballot this November.

Why even vote in Ohio then? Ohio could go 100% for a candidate and have all their electoral votes go to another candidate.

Article 2 Section 1 says that the state legislature appoints the Electors for their state. It cannot force their appointed Electors to vote for a specific person such as the winner of the popular vote.

All electoral votes are sealed and sent to the Senate where the votes are counted.

It is unconstitutional for the state legislature to change an Electors vote as stated in Article 2 Section 1.

This petition was collected by Andre Baird, 15807 Biltmore Ave., Cleveland, Ohio, a representative of:

Fieldworks LLC
PO BOX 9897
Washington, DC 20016

Which, according to the Daily Caller, is a Tom Steyer organization.

https://dailycaller.com/2018/05/22/tom-steyer-felons-renewable-energy/

“The accusations come as another setback for Steyer’s campaign to force renewables on Arizona electricity customers. The campaign he funds — along with its signature-collecting firm, FieldWorks — is already in hot water by the Arizona attorney general’s office in regard to its petition-circulating activities.”
