DiGenova: 'We Are In a Civil War ... I Vote and I Buy Guns' (Joe DiGenova on Laura Ingraham)
CNS ^ | February 22, 2019 | Michael W. Chapman

Posted on 02/22/2019 11:08:02 AM PST by xzins

Commenting on the double standard the political left and the liberal media play -- conservatives are pilloried and leftists are coddled -- former U.S. Attorney Joe diGenova explained that America is in a "civil war" now and that things will get much worse before they get better -- "total war."

DiGenova, who also served as special counsel to investigate the Teamsters and as counsel to the Senate Select Intelligence Committee, made his remarks on the Feb. 21 edition of The Laura Ingraham Podcast.

During the discussion, Igraham noted how the left and the liberal media work hand-in-hand to spin and cover for wrongdoing on the left and yet endlessly attack the right. For instance, the leftist press constantly refer to President Trump as Hitler, Stalin, a dictator, a Nazi, Mussolini, racist, white supremacist, treasonous, disturbed, demented, bigoted, etc.

Also, the left has essentially forgotten the shooting of Republican congressmen by a Bernie Sanders supporter in 2017 and they largely ignore the death threats and assassination attempts against President Trump. They downplayed the anti-Semitism of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Mich.) and immediately rushed to defend Jussie Smollett who, as we now know, has been accused of perpetrating a hate crime hoax.

President Abraham Lincoln. (Getty Images) “We are in a civil war in this country," diGenova told Ingraham.

“There’s two standards of justice, one for Democrats one for Republicans," he said. "The press is all Democrat, all liberal, all progressive, all left. They hate Republicans, they hate Trump."

"So the suggestion that there’s ever going to be civil discourse in this country for the foreseeable future is over," said the former federal prosecutor. "It’s not going to be."

"It’s going to be total war," he said. "And as I say to my friends, I do two things – I vote and I buy guns.”

Understood; go into combat with a cool head.

“Shots fired in anger” meaning “shots fired following a declaration of war” is what I intended. The likely SHTF scenario (I have to avoid writing STFU) won’t be movement of organized elements, it will be `triggering’ incidents or being in the wrong place at the wrong time, at least initially.

If armed Antifas start stalking the streets they will likely be picked off in short order; too many armed patriots. There are all kinds of possibilities; I would not want to be living on an isolated farm unless it was fortified & trusted friends were there as a QRF.

In fact, (just ruminating here) all the pro-gun control articles I’ve read are full of frustration over how to round up all the guns without national registration. They cheer the passage of Red Flag laws, of course, but now there are reports out of CA that thousands of Red Flag warrants have yet to be carried out. Couple that with huge noncompliance in blue states requiring registration of “assault weapons” and the situation may not be quite so bleak.

When stats show that several red states have each more deer hunters than the standing armies of most nations, and that a (successful) deer hunter is a trained sniper by default, it seems even less so.

That nerd from Esquire magazine who screamed “We’re coming to take away your guns right now!!” is more entertainment than credible threat.

Sometimes one just has to take a deep breath.

When they get the socialism they want, American will look like Brussels or Berlin. There will not be many fast food places as there are today, or so many cell phone providers, or products that people can afford to buy. Nobody will have a closet full of shoes or too many dresses. Americans will eventually rid themselves of microwaves, electric coffee and water pots, and other small appliances - replacing them with a small low volume gas stoves and tea pots to boil water. The grocery stores will not carry large quantities of frozen foods because people will not be able to afford large freezers, a second car or own lots of toys for weekend trips. With no one to buy cars, or let alone watch movies at theaters, or a spare dollar for newsprint....

At this point, I believe that actual “total” war is unavoidable; and, quite honestly, a second civil war is now necessary - because that is the only way the left will be defeated in this country.

Things have gone too far, and there is no turning back to any sort of “peaceful” resolution. There can be no “coexistence” with the left. The present situation will only be resolved through bloodshed - and the sooner we get down to the task, the better.

My only regret is that we will need to use nuclear weapons on leftist fortresses (e.g.: San Francisco, NYC, Boston, Philly, etc.) so to totally obliterate them - because there exists no other solution for these progressive sh*t holes.

I’m guessing that, this time around, at least 50 percent of the population will be exterminated.

After the dust settles, one of the first things, among many, that should be permanently outlawed are public schools. - because that is where all the trouble began. I’m not too keen on a “free” press either, unless there is strict laws in place to punish slander and libel. In fact, such crimes against reputation should be punishable with the death penalty - no exceptions. The penalty should be imposed for abortion and all forms of sexual deviancy.

I can 110-percent guarantee that the “sharpshooters” to which you refer will not be restricted to “ex-military” - nor to those having some “terminal illness.” There are many chomping at the bit for an armed response - and they do not fall into the categories you posted.

Count me among those that want it. A man will take only so much sh*t before he spits on his hands, raises the black flag, and begins slitting throats.

Gosh. During the War between the States, Lincoln suspended Habeas Corpus and arrested newspaper editors. I wonder what would happen if Trump arrested the entire staff of CNN.

Understand this: there will be no mercy or quarter given, nor expected. For me, that means no prisoners, and shooting the wounded. More pointedly, women and children get no special consideration. I know dozens of other individuals, whom I converse with from time to time - all of them ex-military, having the same attitude. It will be total war - and, this time around, it will make the first Civil War look like a damn picnic.

Really?? OK, how would you get this task kick-started? Who decides to get it started? Who would be the top targets?

What’s the plan if the Dems control the police and military when all this begins? What’s the plan if the Dems bring in UN troops to assist them? What’s the plan if the Dems control our nukes when this new Civil War starts?

I won’t wait for the excuse of personal “self defense.” As a culture and society we have already been “attacked” multiple times over. The first shot fired in anger occurred long ago - but our side never really heard it, of just plain ignored the retort.

That’s good to know. Let the red flow freely.

I was thinking about guys for whom the consequences would not matter. That, of course, eliminates people of faith (since the consequences continue to matter even when you’re dead).

I like your confidence and enthusiasm. Thanks. Keep practicing.

My rifles are “zeroed in” at 100 yards. Yours are? I also use Carl Zeiss scopes on those having bolt action. My carbines are all standard adjustable iron sights.

“In order for our side to fight back in any meaningful way we must first organize. We seem to have some natural refusal to do that.”

The other side seems to have more cohesion, although that seems to be getting frayed in spots.

In general Democrats do stick together more than Republicans.

But if you're talking civil war, then obviously you aren't going to have more conservatives or Republicans in favor of that than they have Democrats or liberals in favor of Democratic politics as usual.

I don't think there would be much unity among Democrats if the topic is going to war with the other half of the country.

Democrats stick together because they can just add up different groups by promising them things. If that's no longer possible, they won't be united anymore.

There's no real cohesion between stockbrokers and corporate lawyers who vote Democrat and the urban masses.

And I doubt there's much real cohesion between ordinary Republican voters and those contemplating civil war and nuking major cities.

1 million armed Americans surrounding the Capitol ... Should then holler in unison ...

Well, sir, what shall we “holler?”

From my perspective and temperament, I shall tell you - “FIRE!”

Plan?

Have you not read or heard that, in war, the best made plans are laid to waste?

After the first shot is fired, the “plan” is the first casualty.

Moreover, from your post, I think it reasonable to surmise you will not fight, no matter what, because you expect “a plan” for every possible contingency. But, in real war, that just does not happen.
